IMHO, The Fatboy is not a good choice. You'll fill it's main compartment up with just one or two 27oz KK's and a pair of gloves and hat.
Buy the Jumbo for the exterior water bottle holder alone. With that, you can carry any size KK, Nalgene or Guyot bottle that has a max width of 3.5".

I'm thinking of switching to a KK bottle. I bought one of the Guyote stainless Nalgene bottles and it leaked. I wrote to Guyote and they sent me a brand new one for free. Unfortunately this one leaks sometimes as well so I'm giving up on them.

My question is, are the any of the KK bottles the same diameter as the Nalgene ones? I usually nest my Nalgene bottles in a stainless GSI cup and I'd like to do the same with the KK bottle if possible.

All the bottles in my photo's nest in the GSI cup I have. They are all 3.5" wide
 
I did go and get a fatboy in woodland camo. I got it for half price since I had ebay buck to spend and they were going to expire soon. It will be my first max pack. If I get it and its too small, I can always sell it or use it for small jaunts. Like most of you guys, I will probably end up with another if I like this one................For those of you with a fatboy, will the 27oz wide mouth stand up and zip closed ??? From the dimensions I see, its just a tad too tall. The classic KK is a little taller than the KK wide mouth form the spec sheet on KK website. If it is, for this small pack, the 18oz might be better and allow me to put more inside ??? I know I could just use a plain woter bottle, BUT if the situation would happen where I need to boil water, having an 18oz is better than nothinig....correct ???
 
it is. and look at the new kk tops. they have the flat tops which should cut some height off it you really need to
 
Will a 27oz wide mouth with flat top "D" ring fit in a fatboy standing up ??? Thats about as short your going to make it with the options.

According to specs for the Fatboy main compartment, it is 8t x 6.5w x 3d.

The Jumbo is listed as 9t x 8w x 3d
My Jumbo has a rain collar that stands up above the 9 t height making it 12.5t. I'm not sure the Fatboy has this collar.
I can fit two 32oz Nalgenes side by side without the collar up and the flap will still buckle. I can get two 48oz nalgenes in and extend the collar.

I'm guessing I could stuff four 27oz Kleen Kanteens in my main compartment and 2,maybe 3 in the Fatboy's, but either way you have just used up the entire main compartment on both.
