Best Survivel/combat fixed blade

That is one of the sexiest knives I have ever seen.

it depends on what you want to do with it. if you're just going on a wilderness hike for a few days and need a good knife at your side for general cutting tasks i'd go with a buck 119 or a Ka-bar USMC but if you want a SHTF knife either for a bug out bag or to keep with you just in case or maybe you go all out and go into the woods for a week with minimal supplies just for the fun of it (i'm thinking of doing that this summer) i'd go with a becker BK2 or the BK17 depending on which blade shape you prefer. these would be good batoning and shelter building tools as the Ka-bar and Buck wouldn't stand up the same. the beckers are also thick enough that you can dig with them if need be. If you go with the Becker you might want to pair it with a smaller blade for finer work because they don't seem like the kind of knife that would be good for skinning or dressing an animal. in the end this is just my opinion as with everyone else that's posting in this thread because picking survival knives are just like picking folders in that everyones needs are different so use these as guide lines but in the end you have to look at what you actually need the knife for, just my 2 cents

Have you guys seen that Aurora from Bark River Knives? Man, It made me sign up a new name to sell off my Blackjack Halo 14. Don't look if you haven't seen that BRK yet though. (update - BRK Fox River or the Necker2 lol)

Well the Hogue EX-F01 showed today.. Very Nice knife, Like the EX-01 I already have, extremely nice quality and again so completely sharp. I think I could dry shave my face with it. Mirror finish on the edge. Very clean machine work on blade and the g10 handles.. Love the look of the Gmascus g10. Feels real nice in my hand. Very glad I bought and super quality..

As far as the a couple posts ago I have a couple buck 119's and love them as well.. My first one my dad game me back in the early 70's and is my favorite knife of all time.. Bought a new one a while back just to keep it company, Figured I would use the newer one to actually use and save the one my Dad gave me from any more use.. Not really heavy enough in my opinion for the all out SURVIVAL :D knife I am looking for though..

Let's see, two blade lengths and a choice of 4 handle materials for a total of 7 knives on the Hogue order page. The ESEE 6 comes with a choice of plain or serrated. The other choice is sheath color. But there were too many choices?

Neither are a hollow handled saw back survival knife with fishing kit, compass, sharpener, and amphetamine supplements in an overworked cordura sheath, which is what EVERYBODY knows is a survival knife. Everybody.

Frankly, I think the OP rick rolled this.

Oh but the Hogue is hollow handled.. It has storage space inside.. Torx bit built into handle just for field removal.. look at link

Man, after these dead beaten horse type threads (no offence OP), when they get to like 7 pages, I can only read a few of them then skip to the end. Then I'm usually lost so I don't comment. I hope you found a knife OP they are all a little different.

These are what I would consider my Combat/Survival knives.

Cold Steel Trailmaster, Blackjack Model 14, Cold Steel GI Tanto.

Go buy a Glock field knife for a few bucks and go hard. Buy the fancier stuff after you know what you really want.
