Best Tactical Folder

'Best' is so subjective.Best to whom?

:thumbup:When I hear 'Tactical',I think of Emerson. There's plenty in your pricerange.

Good luck ;)

if you're right handed and don't mind tip-down carry, then I'd say the Spyderco Military is a great choice.

I'm left-handed. I remove the clips and carry my Military in my left pants pocket like any other pocket knife. :p

great i thought i was having a hard time choosing before, now its worse, with all the choices given to me.

Spyderco Manix2 is an excellent knife. Solid and stout without being too much to carry comfortably.

 Popedandy speakth much truth here. Plus the street price is only around $80, making it one of the very best values in a USA made knife there is.

I would highly recommend Spyderco Military or Para Military. My go-to tactical pocket knife is the Para, and I always have a Case Trapper in CV steel for more gentlemanly cutting chores.

The Para is quickly deployed, has a super strong lock, grippy handle and a great flat grind. Plus, it's less expensive than many Emersons and ZT knives, but made in the USA with S30V steel and seems to come recommended in many of these threads.

I'm left-handed, and I'd sooner carry a knife on my right-hand side or on my left-hand side, with the righty clip, before I carry it loosely in my pocket.

Any of these will do:
-Spyderco Military
-Spyderco Endura Wave
-Emerson CQC-13
-Al Mar SERE 2000
-Emerson CQC-8

Under $200?

I'd probably vote for the Spyderco Military.

My personal pick for best tactical folder, period, would be the Large Regular Sebenza, but that's around twice your price range.

Spyderco millie or ZT 0200

Both under $150. Often way under. 4 inch blade, very tough. Millie S30V ( or various sprint runs in things like BG42, CPM D2, S90V, etc.). ZT 0200 is 154cm

another stout, good knife is the SOG Tomcat 3.0 . 3.75" of VG10. about $175

Spyderco Police, and Endura, Chinook, Gayle Bradley, Chokwe, etc,
Kershaw has several also. The JYD series, Tyrade ( non Ti series), Blur ( in several different "super steels including S110V, S60V, ZDP 189, and CPM 154) Shallot, etc, etc.

Lots of great choices.

Some excellent suggestions have been mentioned, however, you really should check out an Emerson CQC-8

i have a zt 300/350 and a benchmade rukus and both r built like a tank and i would trust. dont let the weight scare you. i carry my 0350 everyday and dont even know it's there.

you realize that if you shop around you can get a spyderco military and a manix 2 or, ahem, kershaw R.A.M., for less than 200US.

it seems to me that a knife carried with the primary purpose of SD in mind should have the emerson wave feature or be a fixed blade.

My two favorites are the Spyderco Military and Emerson Super CQC-7. My Millie gets more pocket time because it's lighter, slimmer, has a longer blade, and is better suited to all-around utility. If I were going to war though, I'd bring the Emerson. :D

Benchmade 710, Spydie Police G-10, or maybe a quality framelock. Avoid Emersons.

You guys have been more than helpfull. After all your suggestions, i looked into all the knives and all their specs. I have narrowed it down to these 2 for now. hehe, but feel free to expand on these choices.

Emerson - CQC7
Benchmade - 710D2

my only concern is, ive noticed that these blades are alot thinner than competition. Would that be a problem if i needed to use it in self defense thrust movement.

Sorry for asking too many questions, but im starting to get into knives, and would like to know more about them before i make a purchase.
