Best Tanto Knife You've Ever Owned?

OMG, I just caught the tanto 'bug' and ordered a ZT0400 as well as a Kershaw RJ-1. I don't know much about the functionality of the blade; can anyone shed some light on these two knives? Thanks!

I forgot I have a CS Recon 1 Tanto coming as well!

My favorite is the Severtech tanto I have. I actually like it more than the Spartan, which I have as well.

These are my only tanto blade knives. Sorry, I bought them for lookin' at only and so cannot vouch for their usability. Still, if you're seeking a less-common tanto to try, why not? That is, if you can find one. ;)

Entrek JAG. It's a different kind of tanto, with the edge rounded at the angle. It has been simply outstanding. I carry it for personal defense, woods bumming, bushcraft, food prep, and such, and the spine throws showers of sparks on a ferro rod.

I recently sold my ZT0400, but that's only because I'm not a big fan of the tanto design after using a couple of them. The quality of the ZT is top notch though, so if you like that design you should be quite happy with it.

I love my CRKT m16-04Z as an EDC. Most of the knives I own are American Tanto style blades. I have the CS GI Tanto which is a phenomenal knife for the price and the KA-BAR black tactical Tanto, which is my camp carry knife.

I just wish I was able to find it with a plain blade instead of partially serrated, but there is plenty of blade for fine work.

Man want's a tanto that will hold up to some work, great call on the Kabar Tanto as a camp knife Judoka, can't believe no one had mentioned it yet.

I love my 1245 myself, I often USE that thing.

For your needs OP, I'd go with the Tanto Short by KaBar.

The Cold Steel Voyager in XL tanto is the one I carry in my rotation - currently the best "tactical" folder at any price imo.

I don't know what kind of price point your working with, but the CRK Tanto Sebenza and umnumzan are very visually appealing, at least to my tastes. They do offer an extraordinarily strong tip also.

I like tanto knives too. In no particular order:
ZT0400
Kershaw Zing
Emerson CQC7 & 15

I've owned a CS Magnum Tanto 2 in Aus8 for at least 15 years, probably more. While I don't own any other fixed blade tanto's to use for comparison, the Magnum 2 has been one heck of a stout blade despite the edge taking some fair abuse. As for tanto folders, I've owned a few here and there but they were not practical for my needs and were put up for adoption. The only tanto folder left is my Emerson Roadhouse. Again, it isn't practical but there is something about this one that keeps me from getting rid of it. Maybe it's just it's looks. While I'm not an Emerson fan, that satin and stonewashed blade is damn sexy!
