The leek is a great edc, I have one myself. But it's not a heavy use knife at all. I tested it a bit on some smallish branches to see if I can get some kindling. The blade is a bit short and I bent the tip after some force.

It's a great carving knife; but don't expect to be able to split, stab, or pry at materials. (not with too much confidence anyway) I have the 1660CKT with Sandvik 14C28N steel. Edge holding is great, sharpening is easy, but the blade is thin enough to flex using my fingers.

Check out kershawguy.com. If had $100 to spend on a kershaw, I'd probably try the new brown/blackwash blur with Elmax steel or the od colored knockout. He has good deals in factory blems as well. You could try out several different models as well and sell the ones you don't like.
