Better luck with benchmade or syderco, which company do you prefer and why???

all my benchmades have been perfect out of box same with usa spydercos two of my ressilances and my jester have bladeplay even when adjusted. Favorite knife out of these two brands is benchmade 950 rift awesome knife.favorite spyderco is my manix2 solid lockup and very smooth.

My favoritism runs heavily toward Spyderco. However, I usually carry a Sebenza. CRK is great, but most of what I buy is Spydies. PM2, Gayle Bradley, Tuff, Techno, Military, Southard. My gosh, Spyderco is outstanding. My Sebbies and Umnumzaan are nice, but they darned sure should be for the price.
I carried a BM 690. I think a model 710 in D2 is a fine folder.
Spyderco gives one a very wide choice of blade-steels and models, which I truly take advantage of.

Both good brands but I like spyderco you get a far more varied product different steels different looks and benchmades look a lot alike with a whole lot of 154 not to say they are bad because they definitely are not. Just my opinion

I got into Benchmades first.

By number, I have the most Spydercos in my collection than any brand.

I really like them both. Great knives. Too many to name so that is all.

Started with Spyderco and really didn't care for Benchmades catalog of knives. Then I received one in a trade. Then another, and another... They have really grown on me on a cellular level. Not only because they are very fine knives, but once you work with customer service and look at the value (almost all made here in the States) it's really hard to resist not loving them as a whole.

I suggest anyone try at least a couple to get a feel for the company. And order a free pocket clip (if you need one) while you're at it. Pick one up with an axis lock... good luck putting it down!

I can't say anything bad about either brand, I love em both.

I will say that I started out with Benchmades early on and have always loved their products.

One of my first main EDC is my 940 Osborne Axis, still one of my faves.

I only own 2 Spydies, with a third to come very soon.

But I own 8 Benchmades and am always looking to pick up more.

I actually should be receiving my 550HG Griptilian tomorrow :-)

I've only owned 1 BM and 1 endura. I personally liked the Griptilian, even though it did come dull out of box.

I love both, but am leaning towards Spyderco because they have the same quality levels for a better price (but overseas produced if you're turned off by that)

Depends what you like.

I have full size Griptilians and mini, full size Barrages and mini, Endrura, Delica and carry all of them regularly.

My favourite Spyderco is the Warrior.

So much history surrounding that thing.

With Benchmade, either the Skirmish or the Rukus. I never owned either, but those were some sweet designs.

I have owned 2 BM griptilians. I own 2 Spydercos. I feel both are superb company's putting out superb products. But I have to go with Spyderco on edge sharpness. The bm551 came shaving sharp to, but was just a little to thick at the edge for what I lke.i am a true believer in Spyderco...

havent tried BM but god I love my spydies . favortie one below:

I wore a 3550SBK pardue auto for 3+ years and loved it. I recently switched to Spyderco and don't see myself switching back. Both are top notch production knives. Can't go wrong with either IMO.

I love my Benchmades and I love my Spydercos. I'll probably have to give it to Spyderco since it has better knife to price ratio. Some Benchmades are just plain overpriced.
