Damn! I guess that means you like them? Actually it should probably be PhilTBADASS, as he did most of the work. Of course, that's what you young guys are for, after all. :D

DOC

Gee, I was just thinking, maybe I can get Phil to wear a tank top..........

Oh, and just a little more props, I been playing with that marlin spike hitch for the last twenty minutes. Got it down to where I can do it blindfolded. Literally, so, that is some great stuff.

My kids were laffin' their asses off at me standing in the kitchen at my knot tying hooks, blindfolded.

The little one sucker punched me. Taught her well.

Thanks to you and Phil for putting these together.
I definitely learned a lot, and these videos made me realize how little I know about knots and trap making.

Was there a huge difference in chopping power between the two?

Moose, I'm really glad you enjoyed the videos. Except for one or two exceptions, it really was our first foray into the land of video.

Overall, I was pleased with the way they came out, although there are several changes I would make if I were to do it again.

I also should add that we tried to make them as clear as possible, but they could have been better. If anybody has any questions about anything they saw, please ask. Making videos took us all day, and feedback makes it all worthwhile (not to mention the free KaBar 4, of course. :D)

Doc

You're quite welcome. Glad you enjoyed them. No, neither Phil nor I noticed a huge difference between the two.

Thanks Doc. Good stuff once again.

I like the notching method... and your example worked well in the video.

Best wishes from the bottom of the planet.... Coote.

Sure is nice to see the new machax in action. I have been curious to see how the BK4 will baton, but it looks like it does a mighty fine job.

Excellent read Doc! Love learning new knots, especially when you got ways to make stuff easier!

Just finished watching all of the videos. Thanks so much for putting the time into these, I learned a bunch. Gonna re watch that knot one again.

please keep this thread stickied! I learned so much from Doc's wisdom!

Hey Doc,

Thank you for taking your time on these videos. You did a great job and I really enjoyed watching them. :)

Thanks one and all for the great comments. I'm (we're) really glad you got some enjoyment out of them. And thank you for letting us know that you did.

Thanks Doc and Phil. Good videos. Doc do you have an opinion on BK4 vs BK9?

Hey Mauser, I really haven't played with my 9 that much, but I quite like it as well, but so far, nothing will replace my Cincinatti 4. Right now I'm thinking that if I was heading up north for some extended playing in the woods (canoe tripping, etc.), I definitely would take the Cincinatti 4. If I'm heading out for a day playing in the woods, and by that I mean practising bushcraft/primitive skills, because that's what we do out there, I would take the KaBar 4 or the 9, probably the KB4. If that changes, I'll certainly post about it. Of course, regardless of the planned activity, I never have just one knife, or two, or three, or..................

Interestingly enough, while doing the videos, I found myself reaching for the KB4 more because of the sheath (one-handed extraction) and possibly, in part, because of the lighter weight.

If I missed anybody's question, please let me know.

Pictures?

Doc

Nope, when I put on blindfolds, I make sure the cameras are all put up.

Gutsy snuck one in on me at the Gathering, I was dialing my scope in, which, for me, might as well have been a blindfold. :D

I enjoyed these videos very much..... thanks... you've kind of answered this above but if both were current production, priced the same, and you could only afford one, which do you think you'd pick? Thanks again Doc and Phil...really nice work!

Awesome review, Doc! Thanks!
Now I want one even more...
