Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Beautiful day here! Grilled some chops and had a few beers.

Enjoying a little Oktoberfest tonight. We get some pretty nice evening weather around here this time of year, perfect for sitting around outside. (My phone says it's still 90° right now, but it feels much nicer than that sounds.)

Cool pic Barrett, sounds like a great evening my friend :)

Such weird weather here today, an impending storm has blown a load of sand over from the Sahara, and the sky is gloomy, tinged yellow and pink, with an eerie light, and unpleasant humidity. Struggled to get a pic of my morning coffee :(

With my plans to meet up with ADEE and ScruffUK sent packing by Storm Ophelia, I sought the consolation of a couple of pints ;)

White....chocolate.....pale....mild.....
Hmmm......
You've got to tell Jack. What was that like....?

Hope you had a good day in Knaresborough. That chip butty looks the business!:thumbsup: Not been The World's End for years but Blind Jacks and The Mitre still occasionally swallow up vast quantities of my earnings...:oops:

I found it a little sweet at first Donn, but I warmed to it ;) It reminded me of something else, but I can't think what it was now. Definitely worth a try if you come across it

I was only in Knaresborough a couple of hours unfortunately, mainly due to the bridge over the Wharfe at Harewood being blocked, with a substantial detour :( Blind Jack's would have been my choice, but it shuts midweek. I've not been in The Mitre yet, will have to redress that! :D My main reason for choosing The World's End was that the last time I was in Knaresborough, it was with Earl Barlow, and we called at The World's End :)

Hmmm looks kind of familiar! :D

Cool pic my friend, what's the knife?

The power of photography. It's 5:57am and I'm sat here looking at that picture of Earl thinking "I REALLY REALLY fancy a chip butty right now"
Sorry to hear about your traffic troubles but it looks like it turned out ok in the end

I'll look out for the beer Jack  The knife is one I've posted before but awhile back now. It's a Portuguese 'Cabritera'; Inox with horn covers. I ordered it over the internet. I'd post the link to the company I bought it from but I've just checked it and it's not working.

LOL! Hope you were able to resist having one for breakfast Donn! I'll spare you my collection of chip butty pics! :D Thanks my friend, and thanks for the knife info :)

Northern Monk tap takeover in one of my local hostelries last night

Jack - Sheepsfoot folders, good ale and a delicious-looking ("chip butty?") sandwich. I really gotta' get me to England some day!
