Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Jack, the Goudale is French, made in Arques (French Flanders, just facing Kent) made by Brasseurs de Gayant also brewing the belzébuth, triple secret des moines and a few others whose name I won't dare to write here . The IPA is the last the launched, did not test it yet.

I enjoyed it JP, it's an IPA with a decidedly French twist :) I'd definitely buy it again

Happy Sunday to my Blade forum family :)

That green cup makes my smile every time. Do you ever imagine yourself drinking the green ooze that turned those sewer turtles into ninjas?

Cool pic Paul, Bowmore, and a big cat, and a beautiful blade of course :) Is that a warthog tusk? Hope you're having a nice evening my friend

- sorry, Jack.........yes, a very small warthog tusk, one of my all-time favourite handle materials

Nice composition Dylan :) When I lived in France, or travelled there regularly, Macallan 12 used to be one of my regular whiskies, but at the time, the 12-year old was all exported, and I kind of drifted away from it. Now you can get the 12 here, and I keep meaning to revisit an old friend :)

Pie and a pint ;) The pint being Northern Monk's Eternal IPA on cask

My apologies for the delayed response, Jack. The Macallan 12 is certainly a tasty whisky, one I could sip on for a good long while. I hope you can get reacquainted sooner, rather than later. :D

....hmm. Kinda get the feeling, Dylan, we'd both get a lot o' jawin and puttin the world to rights...

Am profoundly missing Africa.........need to get back there soon for my proper fix

We would indeed, my friend. If not, it certainly will be a productive meeting when it comes to drinking and smoking some of the finer things at least. :D That tusk is something else!

I am going a wee bit more blue collar this evening. It is definitely cheaper...

Me too Dylan :D I'm not sure if Macallan have dropped the 10, but I always thought there was a lot of difference between the 10 and the 12

Currently tapping on the keyboard in my dust-free office, sadly all the pain, noise and dust starts with the builders this coming Monday, not a good way to celebrate one's b'day, but hey, just keep reminding myself of how fab it will all look

- a very big thank you to Ig of ilknives for inviting my wife and I around for the night - not just the introduction to Whitley Neill, but an evening of braaing big fat steaks and red wine followed by the warm plunge pool under the stars accompanied by stereo owl hooting.
