Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

Drank quite a few of these this past weekend. Made my own and bought some. Two of my buddies and I ended up using all of a saloon's inventory of limes...:D

LOL! Great stuff Taylor! :D

That an interesting combination of flavors. How is it?

I had this Blonde Ale tonight while grilling pork chops. This was one of those beers that I've had fridge for a while, and honestly I don't know when, where or why I obtained it, and there was only one. It's like it just magically appeared in my beer fridge. (No complaints!) :D

(I meant to take a photo of the pork chops, too, but I got too busy cooking them, and then too busy eating them. :D They turned out great, too! Brined 'em for a few hours, grilled over indirect heat for a bit, then basted with a Carolina mustard and vinegar BBQ sauce and seared directly over the coals to finish.)

It's really good Barrett, super complex. The first time I had it, I poured it straight from the fridge, and drank half of it before I really began to taste all of the great flavours. It's definitely a sipper, maybe even one to share

Sounds like you had a feast my friend, cool little #25 :)

Great story again David! Fun tagging along. Can tell you from personal experience that its not just a Midlands deal though; cutting up critters can be thirsty work:

Just a quick little video of a few seconds. Traditional knives, 2 margaritas and another Coors. Can ya spot em? Our booth set up at the local rodeo last night:

Can I ask what were you butchering/dressing/paunching?

Cheers Jack! Looks like you've had an eclectic mix of beers over the weekend. Especially the orange/ginger concoction

Yes indeed mate! :D Tasty-looking stout :)

Yes sir it sure can be! donn donn

Sunday evening we were doing some roping practice at the ranch. Our good friend and neighbor, Tyler, came prepared. Horsewright Water Buffalo belt stitched in black at his request, a Horsewright Buckaroo with Turkish Walnut handle in a Horsewright Vertical Pancake sheath. In the flask Sexton, Irish single malt. Pretty tasty.

Yip, certainly prepared for any eventually there  Always enjoy seeing your pics of your lifestyle and your leather work . Never really had Irish whiskey; I should try it sometime but I'm not a real drinker of spirits.

I do love a good bottled root beer

Both blade and beverage look magnificent, David!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: I like bottles with writing embossed on them!

Yeah I'm not a huge drinker of soft drinks but they randomly sell that US made root beer in a local supermarket. Nicer than the Australian Bundaberg made stuff.

On Wednesday it was a couple of pints of Kelham Island's Best Bitter 3.8% in the Fat Cat pub in Sheffield. Followed by a pint of Acorn Brewery's Old Moor Porter 4.4% in the Kelham Island Tavern just round the corner.

Fantastic David, you just can't go wrong with those two fine Sheffield pubs :) Mind you, I remember the second pub before it was the Kelham Island Tavern, and it was outstandingly grim! :D

LOL! A bit before my time Jack. I only started drinking in Sheffield in the early 90's and then not around Kelham Island. I do remember the Frog and Parrot pub on Division St' with fondness though

Me neither David, me neither donn donn . Our cantina in the house.

Gonna have to get some new pics. Added way more shelves and stock.

I remember going in there with a mate in the 80's, and everyone stopped talking, tumbleweeds blew across the floor... :D  I knew the Frog & Parrot too of course (even remember the parrot), and the pub before, the Prince of Wales. It was actually set up by Whitbread, and the original brewer, Mr Munro, was the Head Brewer at the Exchange Brewery where I once worked. He was a nice old feller, when he retired from the Exchange Brewery, he set the brewery up for them there. I also knew Rodger the landlord a bit later, and Ernest, his manager, who had previously worked at Tinsley Wire (TWIL), where my granddad worked. Ernest was from Granada, but took great pride in being known locally as 'The African Queen'! After he left, he set up a good cafe down the East End, Ern's Cafe, did a great breakfast :)

I don't have any beer in :( So I'm spending the evening woith a Barossa Valley Shiraz ;)
