Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

An old reliable tonight as I got supper ready.

A pint of "God's Twisted Sister" a 4.5% oatmeal stout brewed by Twisted Barrel Brewery.

And a pint of "99 Red Baboons" a 4.3% ruby ale by Blue Monkey brewery.

Your pics of meat pies and scotch eggs made me weep, as they are not so readily available here. Lager/ale/porter/stout, yes. Victuals, no. Thanks for sharing (sort of).

When I was stationed in Germany, we sometimes bought a great Czech beer called Budvar. When I got back to the U.S., I was unable to find it. I later learned that Budvar means Budweiser and due to an ongoing trademark dispute, they were unable to sell under that name in the U.S. and some other countries where Anheuser Busch had trademarked the name, even though Budvar used it for hundreds of years before Anheuser Busch was started. Budvar holds the trademark in Europe, so Anheuser Busch Budweiser is sold as Bud. One day I discovered you can get Budvar in the U.S. under a different name! One of my top 10 favorites.
