  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

It's nice to relax at the end of a long day with a proper cocktail.

- marvellous, well set up and well posted, sir.............makes me yearn for summer to come all the faster

The knife's right:cool:

That's the sort of cocktail I like in the summer before going out or having dinner:thumbsup: I actually prefer to use the French Vermouth, Noilly Prat, instead. It has a wonderful herb taste and is a great drink on its own with a slice:)
I prefer Noilly Prat too, but this is cheaper, and I use just a little (maybe 13-1 ratio of gin to vermouth). Maybe next time!

Thanks, Paul! The weather has been somewhat summery around here. A little chilly at the moment (55 degrees). Planning to have some Laphroaig in a little while.

Now you're talkin' my language. BTW, I've been using Boissiere Extra Dry Vermouth with some satisfaction in my Martinis. My preference is 4:1 or 5:1 gin to vermouth.

Nice toothpick, by the way.
Going to have to try those jalapeño stuffed olives. I like the garlic stuffed, but didn't care for the blue cheese stuffed--at least not in a martini!

Gose seems to have been flavour of the month in craft brewing, for a little while now - here in Australia at least.

I quite like the clean, slightly sour, slightly salty taste on a really hot day.

This ‘Down She Gose’, by Sailors Grave Brewing seemed an apt way to quench the thirst while exploring the Shipwreck Coast.;)
