Do you want coke with it? he said.
No said I just a blob of ice.
Good because I wouldnt serve it to you otherwise. Good man.
It was like drinking the smoke from Mark Twains corncob pipe.
The finest smoothest ever.
Cheers...only joking about the restrictions.:)

ANZAC day is April 25th.
It is the day on which Australians and New Zealanders commemorate their hatred of each other.
Please take a moment of silent reflection on the insanity of war.
This is best done at dawn with a nip of rum.
And in case you don't know..
"ANZAC day is our day of the year
We march our march
And we drink our beer" Convict Streak by Dave Warner.

Excellent Scotch for the money. Nice Scout

Thank you! It is a decent whisky, though certainly on the lighter side, which makes for some easy drinking.

Stuck inside today so a small sampling of my bar is getting pictured.

It's funny... I was talking to a guy in our local liquor store, who said he was involved in the development of Angel's Envy bourbon, which is my second favorite bourbon. Good stuff, even though I'm really not into bourbons. I told him I'd like the chance someday to try some Pappy VanWinkel... and he said "don't bother... it's not that great". Before that conversation, I had almost convinced myself that I would pay $30-40 for a shot of it, just to say I had.... Now, I don't know. So you think it was worth it? Would you do it again?
If I have to drink bourbon, I prefer Blanton's, then Angel's Envy...
Given the choice, I'd choose Scotch, Irish, Canadian, Tennessee whiskeys before bourbon. I just like the flavor profiles better than most bourbons. If I could get a steady supply of Blanton's, I could be happy with that, but most bourbons are too.... I don't know, something... heady? for me....

I picked up a couple of new beers today, ones I've never heard of before, much less tried. Comments, please, if you've had them.
I forgot to add a knife to the photos, so I pasted in the one I was carrying today.

I had a can of the Apex Predator Farmhouse Ale with my lunch of venison sausage, jalepeno Spam and smoked gouda. Not what I would call a farmhouse ale, very citrusy flavor, but quite good with the smoky, spicey fare.
