  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Beverages and Blades - Traditional of Course

looking good! I didn't know Ardbeg had a 5 yr old... their 10 yr is just pretty darn nice...
I believe it's supposed to be a new addition to the regular lineup, though I could be mistaken there. It's very good, obviously "rougher" and more aggressive than the 10, but if you like Islay style whiskies chances are you'll like this one. Price was pretty reasonable, as well.

if you like Islay style whiskies

I do like them... in moderation. I don't think I could make one an "every day" kind of thing, but I do like them as a "wake up" change. The only one I have right now is a Laphroaig. I'm looking at possibly getting a bottle of Highland Park 18yr old as a late birthday present.... I'm hoping she decides "yes"....

Obviously, she said yes.... this is a very nice whiskey.... I'm not certain it's worth the extra cost, over the "normal" single malts, but it's very tasty. Of course, I should not be rendering final judgement with only one tasting.. more research is called for. Along for the ride with the Serie V is my new #38 in bocote. It's another bit of an experiment...

That looks like a stellar combination right ‘der.

I keep coming back to the Vander Ghinste Flemish sour ale, even if my local shops only carry them in singles. I find myself tiring of overly dry IPAs, and this is a great change from the normal. Here paired with a Victorinox Recruit picked up for a song (shipping included ;)) from the great auction site.
