That "Scotch style ale" is a favorite of mine, although I typically pick up a 6-pack only once a month. My wife claims that beers with higher ABV make me "chatty", so I space them out. But she did manage to find a bottle of Old Rasputin to give me in a random selection of "rare" porters and stouts one Christmas (although she considers Old Rasputin a chatty beer as well). I haven't been able to find that brand of imperial stout since then.

Interesting new potion from Frogs Hollow...no knife sorry ...I was sending this to my nephew who is brewing in Yorkshire for Northern Monk...
I want to like it...I love everything else they make...and local Sth Coast NSW...
Buuut....this Imo needs some aging/conditioning....I'd use the word smoky to describe the peatiness....being a veteran retired pro Firefighter I think I know my smoke🙄🤓 ...Im not saying it is too smoky....but the taste reminds me of when they resurface the road with steaming hot tar mix.....but lets face it...big picture... road tar and peat are much the same thing...just millions of years apart....In conclusion this brew will be better in about a million years time.....they should have called Stinky Peat.20260607_161451(1).jpg
Their IPA however is superb...none of your florallly, flauncy ,flibber gibber...It tastes of beer. 20260608_142934(1).jpg

I hope you're recovering well from your gall bladder episode, and that you can soon get your back problems under control.
I've had sciatica problems off and on for many years, but it seems to be far less frequent now that I regularly keep up with stretching for lower back, hips, glutes, and hamstrings. (But mine was caused more by tight muscles than damaged discs.)

When we visited out daughter and son-in-law in Minnesota at the end of May, they thoughtfully had some stout for me, in addition to the IPAs they tend to prefer. This one was from a local brewery and definitely met with my approval. (I found out that dry Irish stout is just "regular" stout, like Guinness, that has black color and dry-roasted taste due to roasted barley used during brewing. It's different from "sweet" stouts such as milk stout or oatmeal stout that add lactose or oatmeal.)
