Just saw the comment! Thanks Nature Boy. I'm really enjoying this Burlap. I litteraly haven't put this blade down!!!Lookin good, TD!
Haven't been able to find a decent, yet inexpensive, porter or stout while grocery shopping lately, so this is my current "dark beer". It's OK, but not nearly as good as I remember from a night enjoying it on tap with a friend in a bar in West Lafayette, IN one late night long ago.![]()

These are all excellent, and cheap. Need a nap now.

I've seen that pack often at Costco, but have been hesitant to try it after having to basically dump their Kirkland light beer (the first and only beer I couldn't force myself to drink) . Maybe I'll give that pack a go the next time I see it. Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks for the recommendations, Barrett. I always enjoy finding out what other folks like and adding to my "be-on-lookout" list. You're right that Founders has some good stuff (and it's usually priced right at the upper limit of my acceptable range): I like their porter, I REALLY like their Breakfast Stout but rarely see it, and, although it's not porter or stout, I drink their Dirty Bastard scotch ale quite regularly. I like the scotch ale a lot, and it's often on sale at my grocery store; the only drawback is my wife and daughter call it "chatty beer" because it has higher alcohol content than what I typically drink, and they claim one bottle makes me much more talkative than my usual taciturn self!GT, it might not meet the inexpensive requirement, but Founders makes some excellent dark beers, and they're right in your backyard.I've had their Porter, Breakfast Stout and Backwoods Bastard, and would highly recommend any of them (if you haven't had them already).
Schlafly Beer out of St. Louis makes some nice Stouts and Porters, as well; not sure whether or not they distribute up your way.
If this one from Shiner is still available, it's pretty good, and affordable. (Requisite knife content included.)
