Beware 2G semi-custom folders

Updating information:
Several threads about this folder in Foro de Armas Blancas, our Spanish reference forum. One of them, with an OP by one of our most renowned and well regarded members, has at this moment more than 11.000 views in less than 72 hours . Thread title is "Bitter disappointment". So far, and with almost 90 posts at this time, Mr. Mulero - who is an active member of the forum- hasn´t bothered to answer not even one of the questions that several members has asked about the real place and factory where the 2G "semicustom" folders have been made, neither about his real participation in the making, provided the significative differences between his regular QC and the blatant fails in the "semicustom".
BTW, neither surfer nor JOHNNY FROM SPAIN (why does he shout?) have posted in that thread.
Best regards.

This is becoming all too common. Folks come on and bashing a maker/manufacturer without FIRST contacting them, and giving them the opportunity to make it right. I'm certain that most all reputable maker/manufacturers will take care of the problem for you, and is the BEST first step in resolving the issue.

Way to jump to conclusions. You really need to relax.

Hi:

Hello:

Do not forget that in the Spanish forum moderators are part of the business. It is not a democratic forum.

The teacher Rodrigo has always responded very well secured. He has been the victim of a trap with this. I am Spanish and read and write in the FAB and this has created many problems. There are many opinions, good and bad. His work is excellent for years. This can not mess big jobs.

Hi, Corella.
Congrats for your first post in Bladeforums.
No need to defend Mr. Mulero. His regular production is well regarded and highly valued. But it´s a fact that he´s marking with his brand and selling as semicustom a plain industrial product, with fails that cannot be accepted not even in a mid-price folder. You can see the pics there. And the surprising fact that, being a regular contributor in that forum, he has written nothing in a thread about this issue with more than 12.000 views. Nothing.
On the other hand, as far as I know (and I´ve been a member of Spanish forums for almost ten years) moderators have never been part of the business. They´re not paid, and I don´t think they get any other kind of reward.
Best regards.

Hi! the question is the deception by moderators and others speakers, returned the favor with leaves and discounts.
You have not done, not has overseen very poor quality to what is expected of 2G. Can be Nieto I left work and these Forester.
Industrial folders, semi custom price.
JHONY FROM SPAIN & Surfer, you are not ashamed ? ,you are complicit and you knew and all known. Rodrigo has lost reputation.

Regards.

@Alatriste
Ashamed why?
Rodrigo is a good friend of mine, I have several knives from him.
Again: If you're not satisfied, take the phone, call him, he offered money back guarantee (well, not once dissasambled, as one of the clients did and later asked for money back :D).
Anyway, he's banned in the spanish forum, so you tell the mods are unbiased??
I'm not interested in going on in this shitstorm agains him, if you take your issues across the ocean to decry his reputation, why not telling where everything started?
A 100% personal issue.

So, take the phone, call him!

Regards
surfer

It´s unlikely that some of these folders reach US, but don´t miss the fact that Spanish 2G manufacturer is selling at this moment what they call "semi-custom" folders. These folders are very similar to the handmade slip-joints made under their trademark, but in fact they´re being manufactured by a subcontractor in Albacete. MSRP of semicustom is about $160 (plus S&H), roughly 50 % of the handmade one.
I bought one of them and was completely deceived when I checked it. Wood scales were beautiful, and presentation (box and wrapping) was nice and fanciful :). But fit and finish was really bad, inner part of the spring was filled with dry, black grease, point was rather dull, and it simply didn´t cut:mad:. Better save the full price for a genuine handmade folder.

I know of some toxic forum that's going to kill you if you talk about this.....

They LOVE their 2G....

International intrigue !
Not so much intrigue.
In fact I had almost forgotten this thread until surfer has decided to re-open it. Not sure why, if he states he doesn´t want to go through that sh*tstorm again. Up to him.
Anyway, let´s go with facts:
As a result of Mulero´s trial of selling a plain industrial slipjoint - and, at least a bunch of them, pretty bad finished, blunt and even dirty- as a semicustom folder (149 € each one plus shipping) some of members at Spanish Foro de Armas Blancas (Edged Weapons Forum) open several threads to show those issues and provide actual information. Rodrigo´s friends and partners start a defamation and slander campaign against the people who dared to call things by their actual names. Given the fact that moderators didn´t line up with 2G, Mr. Mulero and his clique decide to open a new forum, and register the actual name of the original forums (FORO DE ARMAS BLANCAS), and its abbreviations (FAB, Armas Blancas) as legal trademarks of their new forum. At the same time, they start a 'recruiting campaign' to invite members of the original forum (even banned ones) to join their own. Can you imagine if one of this forum knifemaker members tries to register "Bladeforums" as a private trademark of a new forum?
So far, Rodrigo Mulero and four of his minions have been banned.
And the original Foro de Armas Blancas, FAB, goes on.
BTW, as far as I know, surfer seems to be the webmaster of the new and fake Forodearmasblancas.es. Or aren´t you, Nicholas?
On the other hand, and regarding the wonderful warranty of 2Gknives, I´m still waiting for answer of knifemaker in this thread:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...2Gknives-lifetime-warranty?highlight=2gknives
Really, I think this thread is already too boring for most of Bladeforums regular members. But I´ve never liked to let anyone go telling half truths.
Best regards
