Hello,

In late June 2009 I purchased a Minute Man Tomahawk ($112.00) from BEAR MOUNTAIN TOMAHAWKS. The hawk was paid for but never delivered. Numerous attempts were made to contact the owner SUZANNE SETTLE (e-mail and phone) with negative results. Eventually she returned one of my e-mails, and arrangements were made for a full refund. Up to date no refund has been issued and no other e-mails/phone calls have been returned.

I am an avid knife/hawk collector and have bought numerous products over the internet and dealt with almost a dozen different companies. All of which have been very good. PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS OF BEAR MOUNTAIN TOMAHAWKS!

I've enclosed a copy of my last e-mail sent to Suzanne in hopes that nobody else on these forums gets ripped off.

Thanks for your time (I hope the font isn't too large)

Hello Suzanne,

It has now been over 4 months since you promised to refund my cost of the Minute Man Tomahawk ($112.00 US Funds), with no follow up or response on your behalf. This whole process has taken almost a year from the original order date. You charged my credit card before the product was shipped and it was not delivered within a reasonable amount of time (over six months). When a refund was promised, it was not issued. This is not a business transaction but a fraud.

Please be advised that I have contacted the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION and will be lodging a formal complaint against yourself and Bear Mountain Tomahawks. I have also obtained legal council in regards to this issue.

I believed in your company, invested money in your products and you lied. How many others have been lied too?

I am just asking a question....
I am not defending or making excuses....

But, I have been surprised to see similar threads popping up on what I thought and/or read were "reputable" makers.....
Is it that folks have just become tired or lost focus?
Is it this economy? Have folks over extended in aniticipation of continued sales and suddenly lost a customer base? I mean, honestly, knives and hawks are in some respects "luxury items". My finances have been poor for some time, so I have been waiting and biding time in hope of making some purchases.... Now, as I am starting to enter a point that I can afford it, these makers are popping up with scathing claims against them....
i.e.: Originally heard good thngs about R. Linger. originally heard good things about Bear Mountain....

Again, not making excuses, just wondering if the sales have dramatically dropped and the makers have been over extended in this luxury sales market.... Don't know the answer but am curious if some makers still producing could comment. Have you seen your sales dramatically drop in this economy?

Look at the dates on posts you read. R. Linger went bad years ago.
Thanks.... that was just one example. Did bear mountain go bad long ago? I don't know. Again, don't know why makers "go bad". I am just asking a question/questions.

I would be curious from hearing from other makers as to if this economic environment has had significant impact on their sales and/or orders received....
