Hi all,

I got screwed in a trade with a guy in Edmonton, Canada...goes by "Don Bob".

I traded an MT Troodon for his Sebenza. Never got his knife (5weeks now) and his email (thomas1980n@live.com) no longer works.

I had about 20 email exchanges with him..talking about knives. Something didn't add up (e.g. "forgot" to tell me that he is in Cananda until @ point of shipping) but I went against my better judgment. I questioned myself whether I can trust this guy a few times but resorted to my assumption that knife guys are good people. So much for that theory!

I google earth his address and located a nice home in the suburb. This whole experience irks me and leaves me with a very bad feeling.

Please don't make the mistake that I did...avoid this person!

PO'd,
-LTN

Don Bob? That name sounds... made up.

Edit to add: This is in the wrong forum btw.

Ouch, it's one thing to lose out on a small (under $50) deal, but knives in the $300 to $400 range is a really terrible thing. 5 weeks is a long time, you are a lot more patient than I would have been. By week 2 I would have been tearing down the post office trying to find it (even from Canada). I hope this turns out for the best, even if it seems unlikely.

I live in Edmonton, Anything i can do to help?

It's guys like this that discourage people from international sales

Rest assured not everyone from Edmonton is bad :D

Thanks all for your response/support. Strangely I feel better already having my "anger" about this validated.

He sought my ad out on Knifeforums with the nick of Thomas1980.

Thanks Edmontonians for speaking up...I don't want anyone to get into a confrontation with this guy..but will post his address so good folks can avoid him. Will search his address in my inbox later today.

Thanks,
LTN

Letme get this straight. You did business with him on another forum. He is not a member here. Calling him out on Bladeforums is just a way to get at him elsewhere.

We've finished here. I'm closing the thread.
