Beware of this guy!! I took pity on him and worked a deal with him for a Ghillie poncho, traded for a HI Ang Khola for it. He wanted a Steel Heart II that I had but it was inprocess of being traded with someone else.

Even tho I had to wait for the poncho more than I thought neccesary, he said he was sick and had to go on a camping trip. Of course this was after 6 e-mails to see what was going on.

I felt sorry for this guy, I have been in stiations like he says he's in and I always appreciated help from family and friends. So I sent him another knife along with the Khukuri. Not much, just an old (but NIB)CRKT sheath knife I had aquired years back.

Did he even say thank you for this? Nope!!

Now what REALLY get me pissed is that a month or so later, he sends the Khukuri to Himalayan Imports for a refund! Using MY name and saying I said it was OK!! I had said nothing of the sort!! Uncle Bill e-mailed me saying a "friend" of mine was returning it at my instrcutions. He smelled a rat right off!

I told him the extent of my dealings with this "indiviual"and that I had said no such thing.

I e-mailed Gunner again to tell him that I didn't appreciate what he had done and that the deal had been between Gunner and myself.
I offered to re-exchange the khukuri for the ghillie suit and not invlove Uncle Bill or HimIMP in this.

Guess what? He e-mails me back twice in one day; one to say that he needs the money for car repairs. The other to say that he needs the money for an upcoming Battle Mistress purchase to please help change bill Martino's mind!! What gall!!

The end result is Uncle Bill sent him $100 buck minus his shipping costs.

After repeated e-mails to Gunner telling him how unethical he's being he still doesn't get it! He actually thanked me! What a set of B#%^'s this guy has!! And no concious at all!

Bill Martino got screwed and my name was used without my permission by this guy! I feel my honor and credibility have been tarnished as well as the relationship I have with Uncle Bill.

Please watch out for this guy and learn from my mistake!
This "Gunner" is NOT to BE trusted!!

Vince, im sure once you explained the situation to HI they understood completely. Gunner is a dirtbag, who used these forums in an attempt to take advantage of anybody he could with his stories and outright lies. BTW, if you remember Vince, you and I made a transaction once, and I can safely tell everybody here that you are a great guy to deal with. So, just realize Gunner is a jerk, and your integrity is still intact.

Thanks for the good words and feelings guys!
I really appreciate it! Until this incident, I've had nothing but good times with good folks here.

Talking with TallPaul once, he mentioned something similar about this guy. That he had gotten a bad feel about him too.

I had already done the deal so couldn't do anything about it, and then this happens!!

Uncle Bill is a true gentleman and a very easy going guy, I am so very sorry he was involved in this.

Even tho this guy actually makes a good Ghillie suit, I was willing to send it back to him for the Ang Khola. He wanted cash for his car/knife, tho.

I was going to send back the poncho anyway, Uncle Bill persuaded me not to. He said if I do that then this guy has the suit and the cash! So the poncho will remain with me.

What gets me is that he doesn't see or understand the ethics (or lack therof)of this situation.

Live and learn, I suppose!

Vince

Hi Ron, I know that you probably dont want to hear from me, but I need to get this off my chest. I am writing to humble myself before you. I thought that I would be better off doing things on my own but I am wrong. Due to my stuborness I have well, screwed myself. I am writing to ask for you forgiveness and I would like to know if you would give me another chance. If so I will have the suit in the mail to you tommorow, and air mailed to you. Once again, I am very sorry I was stubborn and pig headed, will you please forgive me? Thanks. Geoff.

He's banned from Bladeforums too. He's always sorry; he's always begging for forgiveness and asking for another chance.

If anybody is ever tempted ... before you take pity on him run a search and see how many times he's been sorry and how many promises he's made and how many other people have taken pity on him and given him another chance.

just to let everyone know his name is Blackhawk over at knifeforums. I did a trade with him and the next day the flaming threads appeared here. I got really worried and 2 weeks after I'd given up on seeing the knife I traded for it finally showed up. It wasn't what he said it was,but at least I had something to show for the trouble. The process only took about 2 monthes and I got all the excuses I could stand. I was supposed to get an HI Sirupati but ended up with a villiager model(still a great knife but the differences are apparent). It seems he likes HI's stuff. Anyway I would be wary enough of this guy that if he was trading $50s for $1s, I'd pass.
