Beware of OWL! (CON'T)

Owl,

You never gave us your version of why you are called OWL. There must be a better story than your wifes':

...I don't know where he got Owl or where you all get your weird names, but my husband does have big beautiful eyes....

Glad to have learned where the complaint forum is.
Happy Holidays to all,
Michael

I know, i know....i'm a nobody to jump into this but it's nice to see it all ended in good manners!

Merry Christmas and a Happy Knife-2-K new year! It has been fun!

For the record, I had a smooth transaction with OWL. I paid cash for a beautiful Ed Chavar neck knife. There was a small misunderstanding on my part as to the blade style on the knife, but a quick re-reading of the emails showed that OWL clearly told me it was a drop point. The misunderstanding was totally on my end and I`m happy with the knife as it is.

I also feel better knowing I did business with a guy with "big beautiful eyes"!

I hope everything gets sorted out and we can get back to the business of draining our bank accounts for yet another knife!

Ryan, you are a gentleman! Merry Christmas all! I am sending off a $300+ knife to a guy I never met, based on his being a member of the forums. I have done this several times, and have never been burnt. I don't really worry, as if there is a misunderstanding we will work it out.

Well done, Owl. You are a fortunate man to have such a wife.

Have a Merry Christmas, and Peace be with you and your family.

Just so that I don't get into the situation that has generated this endless string (which has ended happily by the devine intervention of a woman) would y'all please inform me what the diffent grades of knives are (mint, near-mint etc). I am new to this forum and have never traded on-line. Most of my knives, custom and production, have been played with and maybe opened some envelopes and then put away. If I'm trading them or selling them what grade would they be considered?

- Mint (with knives) is like, almost never opened or touched.

- NIB is New In Box. Possibly opened a few times, maybe even lubed and cleaned, but never carried or used.

- LNIB (Like, NIB) Carried, maybe lubed, maybe even opened some mail, but in same contition as one that is NIB.

...also use whatever terms will ACCURATELY describe the EXACT condition of the knife as it will be when the purchaser recieves it.

Owl,

I'm still interested...

"How'd you like to find out why they call me OWL..."

There has to be a better story than the one your wife has to tell.....

Happy Holidays,
Michael

Could it be because owl's are raptors? I'm glad to see everything turn out like it did!

Be safe!

And now, a word from our sponser and we will return to this episode of "The BladeForums Soap Opera"

I had a recent trade with OWL, where we each put up two knives. The knives I received were exactly as stated, and well packed, sent on time as promised.

I don't care much about the brown eyes, but the deal was fair and square.

And I like Mrs Owl pretty good, too!

Mr & Mrs OWL, thanks for the trade, and have a great holiday!

Dave Evans

Thought you all might like to know that OWL made good on the $5.00 that I requested of him. Thanks.
