Why are so many knife dealers on the internet so untrustworthy. I bought three knives from PVK.com which all showed as being "in-stock". I even paid extra for express shipping. Two weeks later now and no knives. I have tried to contact them via phone only to get an answering machine. I have tried to e-mail them but no response. I am actually having to call my bank and cancel the charge. The knives all still show "in-stock" as of today's date on their website. Thank god for reputable dealers like Savsonswordsandknives.com...I just wish he carried a broader line.

Sorry to hear this - I just bought one from them and it is being shipped - I thought they were supposed to be a good website to buy from - but your experience shows otherwise. I would e-mail them a copy of this thread - maybe they will get their act together. They owe you a free knife ( if it was my business ).

Andrew from Russia also asked me to call PVK several times to see what is going on with his order. So far it is too early to say - it defenetely not same day shipping as for New Grapham - but they have a lot of knives. For example, Andrew's order was shipped after my call at Wednersday while card was charged Satarday before or earlyer (according to Andrew). I'll keep you updated how will it go.

Thanks, Vassili.

This is nothing new. Josh has always been one of the worst at communicating and shipping stuff out in a reasonable time frame. He has way too many irons in the fire to be able to handle it all by himself, but I hear he is a one man operation. As far as I am concerned that is not an excuse for the way he does business. If you can't be efficient as a one man operation then get some help.

This is a common complaint about Josh, however be patient, he can be slow but he always comes through in time. PVK has great selection and pretty good prices, and you will get what you purchased. Just be sure your'e not in a hurry if you buy from him. I've purchased several knives from him and very happy for it.

This is all well and good but when someone pays for overnight or express shipping of an "in-stock" item he needs to get off his butt and send the product. I will not buy from him again. As far as I am concerned I wasted an extra $20 or so on fast shipping.

If he charged you those extra 20.00 USd and did not ship the order then you have valid complaint. I always got my orders form PVK in reasonable time for reasonable shipping and always with some extra stuff... But the communication was not the best one...

Recently ordered a spyderco DoDo and Dalton Hell Razor, had some questions. Emailed Josh that evening. Email answered by morning and knife shipped that day? Arrived prompt w/ lots of goodies as well. I guess its hit or miss? Sorry to hear of your issue, hope all works out accordingly sir. While my expierence w/ PVK is limited, my transaction was flawless. I would certainly contest the shipping charges billed also!
Loandr.

I've ordered from Josh many times and always received the merchandise in
3-5 days max. The last time I ordered from PVK.com was over a year ago so maybe things have changed since I last ordered? I will say that Josh was always slow to answer emails, however I never had a problem reaching him by telephone. Hope things work out ok for you.

I think it is rather a hit or miss thing with Josh. There have been posts about his slow delivery and poor communication for years now.

Ive ordered from him a few times and had fast delivery. In fact I always got the stuff I ordered next business day, without paying for next day shipping! Im in CT and he is in MA, so UPS ground gets here next day.:)

One thing though- I NEVER get next day, 2nd day, express shipping, whatever, when ordering anything on the net. Its just not worth the money, especially when the vast majority of internet retailers dont even process the orders until 24 to 48 hrs later, if you're lucky.

You make a good point on the "express shipping" option. If I need something delivered "next day" I ALWAYS phone in the order and make sure that the order can be filled and shipped that day. In my experience if I just select the "express shipping" option on the website, there is a 50/50 chance that it won't even be processed until a day or two later. To the original poster, I seriously doubt Josh is out to scam you. As has been stated by others, Josh is a one man show and probably gets overwhelmed at times. He's probably past the point where he should consider hiring some help ;)

I have had 3 transactions with Josh and never had a problem. I have heard complaints like yours before but I never experienced them myself.

I have ordered more than 10 times with Josh and have always gotten exactly as ordered. I did have to call him a few times but he's a one man show and gets in over his head often.

It's too bad thiis is happening to Josh. Maybe it's time he hires some help as it has become commonplace to read that PVK has dropped the ball.

Bad business breed bad business and this is NO way to run a mail order/internet business. Blade auctions and the new software sucks and now PVK is running like this, bad, bad bad...............................

The worstthing is he has just let it slide...like he does not care if people hear about it. if he honed up to a mistake or an oversite it would be no big deal but to just blow off a customer who's money you have already taken. it wasn't a big order so maybe he does not care but to me $170 matters. my next move is to call the attorney general and notify his webserver provider.

All my knives are in stock. I spit on presell places that show people stuff and don't have it in stock. If you make a business of showing product you don't have and luring people into consuming it you are hurting the collector base by discouraging people's trust.

OK I admit I only have about 3 of the Kershaw Scallion but I have 100s of the WASPs and 100s of the S&Ws. I could fill your order 100s of times in one day and get it to every corner of the globe in under 30 days. If I didn't have that Kershaw in the color you wanted I would put in 2 of the other color at no additional charge and I have at least 100 scallions.

David your order tanked because your charge card got refused. I emailed you to tell you and AOL blocked it. AOL blocks commercial email for a living - next week they're charging for the delivery of commercial email and I will be buying blocks of 1000.

You want to go elsewhere? I don't blame you. I can only wait on so many people - I am limited in that regard I am sorry. There is no one here that has been in this business for as long as I have. There is no one with better product and delivery experience
than me. There is no one with more knives and there is no one with more friends. There is also no one with more enemies or misunderstandings on the books. This entire forum site itself even exists and was conceived during a conflict I was a participant in.

Today I am only here for one thing. To deliver the knife as shown in the shortest amount of time possible. I effect that best by not showing any product I cannot immediately ship, buying in the largest volume possible so as to have that product and working hard to get the deliveries out.

Sounds like he owes you the difference in the shipping in this case.
