Beware someone trying to trade a Direware in Glendale Arizona

W Ross Ave, or W Quail Ave in Glendale Arizona. You are right the scammer probably lives on one of these 3 streets.

Personally I would leave off Quail Ave because if you notice it has two exits (one on the left, the other on the right) which tells me that the residents who live on that street would have no reason to frequent Rose Garden Ln. The only residents on Quail St. capable of knowing that the house was vacant would be the 3 houses right behind the vacant house.

However now that I see it, you are correct about Ross Ave. If you notice there is really only one way they can go left to 39th St (if need be). So if someone on who lives on Ross St needed to take 39th Ave everyday for work they would drive right by the decoy house. Good call on that.

I would second the idea of setting up a trap to catch the scammer in the act. However the main problem with this is the fact that the Scammer is already on to this thread. My gut tells me that he is secretly following this thread right now. I am almost 100% sure of it.

May you burn for this you gutless thief! People like you have no honor or morals. You are a disgrace to humanity and should be repulsed with yourself. I hope you read this and build up the sack to send Jim his knife back and change your immoral and dishonorable lifestyle.

I don't think this guy is a small thieve. Of course he knows what he did, what he stole and was aware of what Jim bought it for in the raffle. I'm sure he has done this to others and most likely it is not in that area otherwise somebody would have said something by now about all these facts. It would be too obvious and I feel this guy knows that. The only good thing about all this is that Jim didn't loose the entire value of the knife and just the future trade/selling value. Still sucks big time for scumbags to do this and wish I would live closer to this idiot so I could help Jim more! Jim is a very resourceful individual I'm sure he will get this figured out somehow!!

The guy knows knives and follows all these forums. He is reading all the blogs and threads about it. I'm sure he'll run his mouth to someone about it eventually. Crooks love to brag.

Well, there is a bright side... he only paid $35 to win the knife in a raffle, and the douchebag gave him $40... so he kinda came out ahead.

Still an asshole thing to do, though.

Note looks like it was written by a female. Co-conspirator????

Hard to say. I work with some guys who have pretty girly handwriting. Interestingly, the "7" in the zip code is written with a slash through it, which is also how I write my "7's" - I know a few guys who write them that way, but no women.

Was a knife that expensive sent without signature confirmation?

This is a terrible thing... Having said that, I would not recommend driving by and trying to find the thief, it's a good way to get hurt or worse. Let the authorities handle it.

I did see on one of Jim's posts he replied saying the police had come to his house and told him there was nothing they could do it was a civil matter but I feel like there IS something they should be able to do with all the information that has been brought to light.

No the "regular" police has nothing to do with it. It is a civil manner not criminal.....even tho it was a "criminal" thing to do! The only thing that he can really do is try to find the guy in forums or something to destroy his reputation and find his real identity. In addiditon, he can contact postal inspectors for mail fraud. Police is not there to chase down guys ripping knife collectors off, they are there to protect the thieve from an angry mob of knife collectors tho!! Weird how it works!

I had to undergo now the same process since a forum member defrauded me of $1500 in a transaction. I will be posting my story soon just need to meet with my lawyer and review my post as these mailfraud cases are federal cases and I don't want to detriment the investigation by saying "too much" and exposing vital evidence. You will hear about this soon buddies. This guy defrauded me of $1500 and UPS of $950. Always make sure to ship knives signature required which I did so you make sure it is the real person and you have a better standing with postal inspectors in the case.

Jim can't even sue the guy in a small claim court right now until he gets the guys real identity, which eventually will do.

Ok guys, I think the thread is getting a little of track. This is a feedback thread to warn people about this person and a reminder to us all to not get careless when making transactions.

Jim paid 35 for the knife. The guy deleted all the communication. He sent Jim 40 bucks and a thank you note. At face value, a non knife nut is going to see a guy who bought a knife for 35 and sold it for 40.

Let's focus on raising awareness.

So far about 6 people have come forward on Instagram with stories of this guy offering his Direware for trade. Same knife every time.

wow, I really know this guy is gonna have a hard time in life-- you don't get away with being this kind of dirtbag for long, he will meet the wrong person.

this is the worst kind of experience for a trader on blade forums, this makes me sick considering all the good people I have met here.

As most of the IG (Instagram) knife community probably knows, Jim Skelton was recently scammed out of his Coye Whiskey 2. For more info look up Jim (@jimskeltontv) on ig. Apparently, the thief has attempted this same scam on several other IG knife knuts. He shut down his IG as well as his email account, however I have no doubt he will be at it again. He offers a bolstered Direware S90 with a two-toned blade for trade. As many as 4 people have been offered it. He operates under a FAKE name, and the address in which he asks you to ship to belongs to a deceased man. The address is as follows:

KILLIAN JONES
3820 W Rose Garden LN
Glendale, AZ 85308-2149

DO NOT DEAL WITH "KILLIAN" OR SHIP ANY KNIVES TO THIS ADRESS!!!
