Beware using Kershawguy's shipping address entry vs Paypal info

Another thread with a ridiculously misleading title. So YOU messed up with your paypal address and started a thread warning us to beware of Dave?

When I make such stupid errors I generally keep them to myself, you know, as to not look stupid....

This has already been addressed by me and I am double-checking address's before I ship. You will be receiving a replacement, that was never an issue for me. Would have been really nice if you would have allowed me the courtesy to address the email you sent today before posting this, because this was not needed. I do take care of my customers , even the impatient ones.

Dave

Great post!

If you send a purchase to an address other than the buyer's confirmed PP address, PP will not refund you. Like using PP Personal / Gift, you didn't use the correct PP procedure.

In this case, it looks like the original poster messed up.

When I send money, PP asks me to confirm the address I want the goods sent to.

squidlegs,

You and you alone are responsible for the accuracy of your PayPal information. That includes the various addresses. Neither PayPal nor KershawGuy will know of changes to your addresses otherwise.

I have stuff shipped to different addresses stored in my PayPal account. On occasion I forget to change it to what I need for that shipment. For instance, one time it happened with KershawGuy and another with ExtremAddiction. In both cases, I realized my mistake, emailed them and it was corrected at their end before shipment.

I've never placed an order using PayPal that a confirmation page asking you to confirm your ordering information along with your billing address and shipping address page didn't come up before you clicked the "Place Your Order" button. Appears to me that the OP messed up here not the seller.

Dave is the man. The OP made a simple mistake and learned from it I hope. Perhaps since Dave is going out of his way to fix your mistake you could extend the same courtesy to our friend and change your title. Simply open your first thread, "Go Advanced" Something along the lines "I made a Mistake and the KershawGuy was kind enough to fix it."

Dave and I bumped heads via email once. I was wrong and I apologized to him. Now we are straight.

Hello Dave,

Sean

So you failed to delete your old address on Paypal and it is Kershawguy's fault? Interesting... I have bought from Dave a few times and can say he is one of the best out there and is highly respected around here. Props to him to for shipping you a new knife.

In fairness to the OP , paypal checkout overrides the address that is entered in shipping details on my website and when I set it to not override it creates even more issues. I am now verifying each shipment with my webpage sales to verify the proper shipping address, so it wasn't just the OP's error. Although Esav is correct if I ship to an unconfirmed paypal address I am at risk and if it were an expensive item I would contact customer before I shipped.

I just had a scary situation with USPS today. This really had nothing to do with the company I ordered from but they are a paid BF dealer.

USPS on website said my package of brkt aurora 3v and s/3 dry box was to be delivered today. I have been home since 12:00 eastern time, I checked my mailbox a couple of times and there was nothing. Kind of odd cause our mail always comes about 12:30 to 2:00.

I checked the USPS site and it said it was delivered at 12:29 today. I checked my porch and the mailbox again, nothing.

Called the post office, gave them my tracking info, they called our mailman and said, he said it was delivered about 5 minutes ago.

I said impossible, I always have mail and my mailbox is empty. I asked if this was a new driver possible he put it at the wrong address. She said no, his name is Tim and he has been with us for 3 years, she said, he said he was going to come back and take a look. I said fine, she said if the box is not at your door soon to call them back and talk to some other guy at USPS.

So I was telling my wife the situation, 15 minutes later I was going outside to check and the box and my mail was at my door step. I'm not sure what was going on but it wasn't right.

It was an admitted error from Paypal and an oversight from Dave.

I suggest it was an oversight on your part. You had a chance to use the correct address when you paid; I know, I have used Paypal many times.

I recently purchased some items from Kershawguy - and I did not use his web site - you are very much incorrect to insinuate it is a "known issue" with Dave's web site.

I paid via paypal, and for some reason, paypal chose to use as my default address my local walmart!!!

I called Dave, but there was really nothing he could do - I would never expect someone else to pay for a mistake I made. My mistake? I did not carefully check that Paypal was using my correct address.

Note that I have lived in the same place for 20 years, and I have never had items shipped anywhere else besides my house.

I don't even know how Paypal chose to put my local walmart super center in my list of delivery addresses.

If I were going to be pissed as someone, it would be Paypal -

Fortunately for me, I called the local Walmart and spoke to the manager who told me that only managers can sign for a package that comes in USPS.

I went to the Walmart on the delivery day (USPS tracking) and picked up my package at the customer service desk.

I take exception to your trashing Dave for something that is obviously out of his control, only you and Paypal had the reins in this case.

best

If the USPS has delivery confirmation you can file mail fraud and the residence can get in some hot water for that. Especially if the package was made out into your name.

I don't think so. Remember that ad that was run years ago that anything that was delivered to you in the mail was yours. I do think that most people would gave a package that was not theirs bak to the mailman. I know I have personally taken boxes of checks to the right person after they were left in my mailbox.
