FWIW: BladeForums needs to add a new "AWESOME!" prefix, IMHO.
Early yesterday early morning, as I was doing my typical browsing in the Knife Exchange, I came across a thread where a Gold member had decided to have a very unnecessary back in forth, thinking a sales thread was his best option. FWIW: I just can't understand, why some member's can't grasp the simple concept, and send a PM, or post a comment on a member's profile page. I very rarely ever use the Report feature, but in this case, I sent the said Seller referenced a PM, letting him know that I could see his pictures, and and then after he responded, I decided to help him out and hit the Report tab, which I found out later he had also already done....
Within a couple of minutes, Super Mod, Blues, was like just Marcellus Wallace, on the M. F. and had the mess cleaned up.
I don't go back as far as some of the old-time member's here, but I was fortunate to be around back when RevDevil, Esav B & Morrow (to name a few) were in charge. I not only respected these guys and the thankless job that they did here for free, but I also grew to like Esav & Charlie personally from my many interactions with them and via PM's.....
Which leads me to this new core group of Super Mod's here running this awesome show (Boru Blues & Knarfeng). It's taken awhile for all the little on-line nuances to work themselves out.....
But I just felt the need to say: These guys really do a most excellent job, keeping the insanity/harmony/ here, in balance and have really made this place enjoyable and fun to spend time in once again (at least for me anyway). It really does take a unique special type personality, to be able to objectively moderate a place like this, with so many diverse ego's and all the craziness that come with them.....
Which leads me back to Blues. I think there's most likely a very good reason, why, this man had such a long successful career as a Federal LEO. Some personalty traits, you just aren't able to teach.....
Which reminds me of a living legend assigned to the Delta community (a Command Sgt. Major nicknamed Roo-Dog) I was very fortunate to have not only crossed paths with this amazing human being, but eventually ended up living with with him for about a year in, Makati Philippines. This Alpha-Male, fire hydrant of a Viking Warrior (which fwiw I wouldn't have felt worthy to even carry this man's jockstrap), had 1 innate tangible quality you can't teach- He was as Calm as a cucumber. Kind of like Blues M.O. here.
I've always thought about starting a thread in the Community Center, regarding our Heroic service member's/Veteran/Fallen Heroes who member's here may have been fortunate to have met and gotten to know along their own perspective personal journeys in life.
This amazing Delta Operator, was not only on the Delta Force selection committee (having a personal hand in the selection of Earl Fillmore, Gary Gordon & Randy Shughart), he ironically, was the Brother in the Delta community who flew back to the U.S. to proudly deliver their amazing eulogies......
Pic of Roo bottom right, his Delta kit, and his 3 boys whom he served with and cared about, deeply. Just thought I would touch a little on this here, before starting a thread in the CC when I get some time.
