Good BF's Awesome Moderator's their thankless hard work- Forum Decorum/Etiquette!

I dunno what you had with your Wheaties today, John, but thank you for the kind words. (I'd like to live up to 'em, but I know I won't always do so.)

As far as history goes, Gus K, myself and Esav were the original super mods, though for a period of time Gus and I also ran a couple of forums at the same time...custom knives and then traditionals. When we stepped down from managing the traditional forum we recommended Gary and Frank to take over based upon their participation and contributions to that forum, and Spark agreed with us.

Other mods and super mods were added as the job of managing the site became more complex.

These days Frank, Carl, Rycen and I all work together pretty much seamlessly and, speaking for myself, these guys are great to work with and are always level headed and fair in my estimation.

Anyway, the job often sucks but knowing that we are at least helping some of you when you call upon us, makes it all worthwhile.

Okay, that's enough out of me on the topic.

(I'm gonna have to keep an eye on you, John, you must be trying to blow a little smoke up my skirt... ☺️ 🍻 )
Haha! You're most welcome. My words here, were/are heartfelt. All of you Super Mod's, really do an awesome/thankless job here. And thank you, for sharing this little short bit of history.

FWIW: I do a lot of reading here, and I don't comment often in a lot of the thread's that may interest me. There have been times where I've read you making reference to some of your Federal LEO experiences, and it's always fascinated me (wishing I knew more to these stories); and probably has something to do with my own father (step) being a respected career retired LEO (RIP). I've always had the utmost respect for for our men and women who have served/are serving, to protect us, which can also be a very thankless profession at times, as well.

I'm certain that there's a correlation, between all of the life lessons/wisdom you've gained as a Federal LEO, and how you use those lessons here (I realize this is child's play comparatively speaking). The internet however, brings such an entirely unique set of challenges, and it takes a lot of mental fortitude, just to be able to resolve many of never ending issues. You've clearly demonstrated here time and again, over the past couple of decades, why you were selected to this prestigious Super Mod position. There aren't too many people here, who would be able to do as effectively, what you guys do. And there sure in the heck, aren't many people who would be willing to sacrifice and give up so much of their valuable free time, to keep this very diverse internet forum, moving along as smoothly as you guys continue to do.

As for this Retired Command Sgt. Major Delta Operator I referenced (Durwin Dengerud), I'll save that for when I have some extra free time and share it in the Community Center.

But I will say this (and I know this will come across as KELAMA being all melodramatic lol): I literally owe this amazing human being my life! He took me under his wing, and he protected me, the moment he recognized that I was in a very vulnerable situation, and in way over my head.

I've always wondered, if there was perhaps somebody else here on this forum, who either served with, or met this extraordinary man during their service careers.

You boys in blue (and red) are doing a (mostly) thankless job. I appreciate what you do in herding all the cats and keeping us rabble from getting too rowdy!
Spot on, GB.

Ummmmmmmm skirt???
I believe you got some spraining to do!
Some pictures would be nice! 😍 🌈💃

Hat's off to all of the moderators here on Bladeforums for the hard work they put in to preserve a quality forum environment! No small task given the complexity of potential social media issues these days. Always glad to know that Elliott (Blues) and the rest of "SQUEAL Team Six" (a.k.a. "Steel Team Six";-) are looking out for us all. I've had the good fortune to have had a forum friendship with Elliott for almost 20 years. He's a great guy with a remarkable skill set in resolving difficult forum issues with an accurate ethical compass.
This is pretty awesome- thank you for sharing this!

Esav has gone on to his final reward. He is greatly missed.
Yes he is!

Here's a short little Esav anecdote:
One night (maybe it was sometime around my 1st or 2nd year here), Esav issued me a warning for something I had posted (yeah go figure lol), and that turned into a pretty cool back and forth PM exchange. He told me he was sitting in his recliner having dinner, watching tv, while he was multi-taking with his Super Mod duties here... AND, that he also had a Spyderco Tatanka in his hand....so I better not piss him off. LOL Of course he was being sarcastic! He raved on & on about what a big, awesome knife that Tatanka was....and that I should get 1..... < And from that time on, we got along great and I always kind of looked up to him as a father figure type here.

Esav, was a retired USPS Supervisor (if I remember correctly), & he, along with BF member Monofletch, were always helping out sharing their invaluable USPS knowledge/connections here in the GBU.

I just wanted to pop back in here to post a little more personal “thank you.”

These moderators have helped me great since the beginning of my stay here…
