He made a good point, I've just learned thru the yrs that "old dogs" dont want to learn new tricks(Chris Reeve, myself)

wolf, "your right" too:rolleyes:...glad to see you got thru the "break up", and moved on to someone new:p

what did he do?

plastid,

back in one of the threads where we discussed the edge retention on Chris's knives, Chris chimed in and stated that his sebenza could cut a extension cord a large amount of times (I think it was referenced as 300 times) and still shave hair off his arm. Everyone asked for a video of his finding and proof of this, which Chris couldn't provide. In other words he lied. (it is also highly un-plausible for his steel to be able to do this being so soft.)

He also has referenced videos of how the lock faced got deformed on the old lock face, in which he did 1 video which proved absolutely nothing about flicking and lock damage. Then we were told a second video explaining in detail that showed lock face damage and how it occurred, but he completely abandoned the videos after he discontinued the 21.

in other words he was stating lies as facts to shut up the nay sayers, and he knew that his fan boys would believe him because they would believe him if he said 2+2=10.

here's the specific thread in which the words are stated.

in Anne Reeves own words: "Thought you would like to know - Chris has just used his large Sebenza 21 to make 300 cuts on a 3 core orange extension cord. The knife is shaving sharp and sliced through paper three or four times."

you can notice right under where CRK says this, even Ankerson (our forum steel tester :)) is super skeptical, and asks for the proof.

Regardless of all of this nonsense, people still love the knives. At the end of the day that's all that matters!

By the way, typed with my Umnum in my lap. :D

hmm really eh, thats wack

It aint right that's for sure :)

to be fair I can see why he wouldn't do the 2nd lock face video... it would've made conflicting results with what he originally stated (made him look bad), and it didn't really matter anyways, because he was ditching the design, so why would he have to prove a design he no longer uses.

plasid, ignore the troll, he got scolled by Chris, and now trolls the room from time to time.

Please don't let him sway you against CRK products.

By no means am I telling plastid not to buy the knives, just fair warning come warranty time.

Plastid by all means try the knife and make your own decisions.

never have I been called a troll until I stepped into this forum

my new sig line lol :D

Troll warning

The truth cannot be trolling :)

Chris Reeve was not part of the development of S30V, that is a very widespread and accepted falsehood. Chris Reeve was one of few makers to first use the steel, and give his feedback.

I'm not sure I understand people when they say things like "s35vn has held a good edge for the past year." Personally, of your use is so light that you don't have to sharpen the edge for a year, then there is zero chance that you will be able to tell a difference between ANY two steels. To notice a difference, you have to use a knife to the point that it doesn't cut anymore. A years worth of light use just doesn't give an accurate portrayal IMO. :)

I'm not sure why you've decided to attack me or my statements, Crimson. I stand by them because of cooraborating stories from others in the industry, not just Chris. Please explain.

Wasn't trying to attack you personally at all brother. Your statement just so happened to contain two points of contention with me.

As far as I'm concerned we are all good. :)

Here's the word from a man who really knows what he's talking about, Dick Barber himself:
