BGAK-47's Available Now on the Website

You haven't ever obtained the essence of a wild beast?

I've got the strength of a runt field squerrel. No joke. I can lift a Brazil nut and nibble on it all by myself.

Srsly.

Not sure if this has been covered yet or not, but these AK47's don't have that "corrugated bevel technology" like the ones that came out around 10 years or so ago had do they?
there were AK's with CBT?? how did I miss that. Never even seen a pic...

I had a stripped AK about 10 years ago, that looking back had lines in the blade that looks kind of like cbt, but thought was just machine/forging marks.
Did the AK ever have cbt?

The CG AK-47s that were offered on the Busse site in 2005 and that languisned in the Company Store through 2006 all had CBT. The corrugations are small and they don't show much through the coating, but they're there.

And if you don't believe me, believe this (from the WaybackMachine):

The New American Kensei 47 "AK-47" is the second generation of the original American Kensei (circa 1989-97) and offers many performance enhancing improvements. The "AK-47" is now made of INFI and features our new Patent Pending Corrugated Bevel technology. This new bevel technology offers the absolute repeatable accuracy of CNC technology coupled with greatly increased toughness and strength over a typical flat ground blade. It also increases the AK-47's slicing ability by reducing the friction between the blade bevel and the cutting substrate. Rope grooved textured Micarta, G10, or Aluminum handles ensure a positive grip in the worst conditions.

And this

The grinds are so unique on the new AK-47 that we have a patent pending on the process. We call it a "Corrugated Bevel". The Corrugated Bevel on the AK-47 is convex and allows us to offer the absolute accuracy and repeatability of CNC technology with greatly improved performance over traditional grinding methodologies. When compared to flat grinds or traditional hand ground convex blades out of the same material and heat treat, there is a marked increase in both strength and flexibility.

Wow, didn't know that. The AK's cbt was quite subdued compared to the Hognose sword, my only other experience with cbt.

Thought the Hell Razor was the first Busse w cbt? I know I've seen or heard that elsewhere. Was there an AK w cbt after the HR?

That is so cool. They even had Aluminum handles back in the day! Love all the options like Tiger Hide Micarta and Camo paint too!

The Hell Razor and Pork Belly Skinner were released immediately after the AK-47. The CBT is a lot more pronounced on those, and I think they were the first where it was really noticeable.

Cool thank you JohnTheTexican JohnTheTexican . So were the cbt on the AKs unintentional tool marks and did that give Jerry Busse the idea of intentional cbt on the pork belly and HR I wonder? Then everyone bought them up and loved them and history was made?

Was the FBM before the AK? That seems like the first thing I remember having CBT. I placed my order the day they hit the website and I remember wishing it had smooth sides the day it arrived in the mail.

It went AK-47, then Hell Razor / Pork Belly Skinner, then War Boar, and then FBM LE & CG.

I guess I was confused about the releases because didn't the thread about the FBM, with a picture included, float on the forums for like two years before it was finally released. No exaggeration.

I can't find the thread but I did find this picture Amy.

CBT was advertised as a patent-pending feature on AK-47s from day one, so I assume it was intentional.

I'm sorry JohnTheTexan I just read your earlier post with the info from the Busse sight for the original AKs.,, duoh! But thanks for humoring me anyways sir!

Ordered up an AK black/black...psyched! I have quite a few big and small blades from OP2W but nothing form Busse like this....I Always thought the AK was a super cool looking blade....I missed it a few time on the exchange and when it was offered last year..I just had to get it when it came up this time... its going to be a fun blade to trim the yard with.....:D

I am thinking you need to read #16 entry on this thread Amigo:rolleyes::thumbsup:

That translates to two weeks, which translates to who the F knows.. I'm a Dapper Dan Man dammit! I want my INFI steel now! What is Wauseon Ohio a geographical oddity, two weeks from everywhere? LMMFAO!:D

I'm thoroughly enjoying my 2.7 from the July presale since it 'shipped' last December...odd thing is every time I go to cut something with it, It's nowhere to be found. :D

I was just about to order one of these and realized Tanker Grey didn't seem to be an option on the website.

I'm new to these parts....does that mean Tanker Grey is completely unavailable? Or can I can I call and request it....or put it in a request on the order notes?

Tanker grey with black micarta would be my first choice.

THANKS,
