Bicycles!

Cruising and wheelies!

That’s why I only went with a 26”. Should be better for jumping and hopping.
You can thank “Rob and Big” for the “Big Ripper”!

OK, so it's literally an oversized BMX trick bike.
Cool!
Thanks for the reply.

it'll be 4 weeks come Monday I've been off the bike and I think I'm losing what's left of my mind.

Same here.:(
The trainer is dull but necessary and I stare at my new Knolly in front of me and dream of Spring.

Buried deep in the garage, I haven’t ridden in like 10 years. I think this was like the first good Giant because I remember everyone being surprised that it was good. I have wrecked it every tine I’ve ridden it, good times.

5 weeks of recovery time, and now back on the saddle!

Lars is still in the hills, and missed though he may be, we are still able to commune from time to time

So I may be the one and only CPK'er that's glad the pre-order for the MC isn't until later this year. My other hobby keeps grabbing my money. I just bought a Devinci Hatchet gravel grinder and I am hoping this bike will round out the quiver enough that I have all my bases covered. I have the Fatback Rhino for winter fun, the Intense Spider for the trails and now the hatchet for everything in between.

It's been a loooong winter.
Went a little nuts, but things are starting to look up weather-wise.
Still always a chance for more snow but this time of the year it only serves to keep the trails muddy for an extra week so I remain optimistic.

My Santa Cruz Superlight 29 was getting a little tired from overuse on the black diamond+ stuff I ride and although it wasn't meant for those conditions it endured gracefully and now has a spot on my wall of fame.
Frame only.
I stripped it and transferred the new M8000 group, Hayes Stroker Gram brakes, Stan's wheelset with Chris King hubs and all the other obvious bits and pieces I had around to my Santa Cruz Highball carbon frame.
Also swapped for an Angleset and 120mm fork which brings the head angle to around 68 degrees.
I had my misgivings about a slack(er) angle on the carbon frame but this bike will be used for a few trail systems around here that are built for speed.
Having the slacker front end just makes for a more stable ride on this twitchy bike. (Way too many scary moments on the stock configuration!)
I'm not worried about the frame much anyway, got it cheap 2 years ago and used it as my trainer mule after realizing it wasn't my style on most trails.
But that was when I only had 1 horse in the stable.
I've got a Trek Stache 9 and a brand spankin' new Knolly Endorphin to take up the slack these days.
Just one picture from a shakedown ride today, perfect operation.
I'm pretty sure everything is in proper order but if anyone sees something I missed...

Great looking build Lorien. Hard for me not to like that understated Ibis sexiness in the back though.

So when were you hosting the week of bikes and blades again, next year was it?

I built all three of those bikes for this guy over the years, the margin on high end custom bikes is horrendous, and they take WAY more time to put together than several stock bikes, but it's a creative process that I enjoy
