Bicycles!

Spent a day hitting the rockiest runs I could find at one of the local chairlift parks. Really beat the hell out of the bike and myself. Gotta tighten a bunch of spokes and re-true the wheels now, but it was fun.

Getting ready for Tuesday, I volunteered to bring/carry the firewood tools.

Anyone need a really heavy knife (brand new BEhemoth chopper with terotuf) in partial exchange for some really light Zipp 303 or 404 700c clincher wheels?

Time to upgrade the ol’ road bike...

Figured it’s worth a shot.

PM me if so.

Happy pedaling

I have a couple of Serottas, a Colorado Legend ti, a Colorado ll. I also have an Intense Hard Eddie single speed.

speaking of Knollies, this was my day yesterday

^ uh.. Lorien.. I'm pretty sure that's not supposed to look like that...

Did you get it out? Because the next thing is using a chop saw to remove the stay.
I did, and she's been a'bearing'd and is smooth as buttah again!
that drill bit was one of my favourites, gave its life to get the main pivot bolt out. Rip drill bit :(

That bit needs to be melted down and re-purposed into something.

My Endorphin (above^^) developed a squeak after only a couple of months that was driving me nuts.
My first thought is that it was the CC DBair making the noise so I grabbed another and it still squeaked so I pulled the suspension apart.
Found some steel hardware that was unlubed and rusty.
Sort of aggravating that no lube is installed on a higher end bicycle but lesson learned, I guess disassembling a brand new unit to correct all oversights is required.

the interface between the igus bushings and coated steel fasteners will make noise if left as is from the factory, after some mileage. Best way to deal with it is loosen the fasteners slightly and put a drop of oil where the igus bushings and aluminum meet up, cycle it a bunch of times, (disconnect the shock bolt so you get a full and easy stroke) and then re torque. Igus bushings are meant to be run dry, but if water and dirt get in there, corrosion blooms on the steel fastener, restricting motion and creating noise. Lubing is really done just to keep that crap out, since the system requires no lube in order to run smooth

It is unfortunate how pristine that bike looks. Here's hoping you get to log some more trail time real soon.

Not gonna feel too bad for you, given the back drop. Any one of those rides have been better than all of mine this year for sure.

Give us a review of those Michelins when you finally get the tits worn off them.
