  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

That’s nice, LA. Rootdown/Primer, same/same. Jealous. I’ve thought several times of just ordering a frame and having it sent to you to build out. Maybe one day.

So it's been 17 weeks since I fell and jacked up my knee, shoulder, back etc.
Yesterday morning and this morning I went on a short recovery rides with my wife in the Bosque here in town.
Just about 45 minutes of gentle spinning and I couldn't be happier.
Best cycle therapy ever. 😁

No impact?

That’s always one thing that concerned me about CF rims; they’re more susceptible to impact than aluminum (and I’ve had more than one case of threading through a rock garden where a tire slipped sideways off one rock, and the side of the wheel smacked another rock. Metal rims get scraped, maybe dinged, but they’re usually still fine).

well, truth be told- I have been known to ride my bike fairly hard lol.

We Are One is a sweet little Canadian company that makes these carbon rims, and they provide lifetime warranty so I'll be all good.
I'm a fellow hard rider, so can relate - when I worked in a shop, the mechanics said that bikes went to die with me, I always had broken parts/bikes, crashed often, etc. Hell I cracked one of my carbon road bikes on an indoor trainer - snapped the seatstay about mid way up...

How?

Great question, was doing my standard mountain route in Zwift, when I heard a strange noise, and the bike felt strange, I thought the rear dropout had come out of the axle (using a qr on that bike), but that was fine, looked and there was a crack on the seatstay - brought it to a Specialized dealer, and they said it was crashed (middle of winter in Missoula, MT, with about 2 feet of snow on the ground, so I sure wasn't riding 23mm slicks at the time...), so sucked to be me, that was my last Specialized bike purchase I'll ever make. Now I just ride titanium framed road/gravel bikes, not gonna snap those.
