The knife I think is Chinese made, drop forged 440C, I won it on an Ebay auction for 40 AUD. The BUY NOW price at the time was 110 AUD, and it probably still is.

The Clear Plasti Dip has very good traction for the hand. Gives you a better grip. The knife came with G10 scales that are WAAAAY too smoothly finished. The Plasti Dip can easily be peeled off with a bit of force, but will last a long time.

Knives this size I simply collect, I don't use them. I only use smaller stainless knives when I go fishing. If a blade looks attractive to me and it's stainless of any kind, I would consider adding it to my collection.

For hard use chopping and the like, I hire someone else to do it for me.:D
I also use bigger knives when I go hunting, but again, I like a high grade Stainless, preferably a CPM stainless or near-stainless. I'd only go for a carbon steel if it's a knife I really like, and I mean like a lot. But there aren't many of those that are easily available... and there's good reason for that. Those that buy such knives usually keep them.

The end result was the knife I posted a few days ago. He told me today that he wants to try making for customers, and that his knifemaking company will be called OZAIR CUSTOM HANDMADE KNIVES! Every knife he made for me, I had others look them over that know a Helluva lot more than my amateur self knows. They gave their intake on his knives...All is good. And so since he said, now I can say it.

Neat. Decided to check them out! certainly got their eBay site up quickly...one day! Load of knives on it too! Dozens of models. Got up to speed quick!

Not much on place of origin or type of steel other than "J2 steel" and "Our blades are made from high quality stainless steels which is from the JAPANESE STEEL. He has been tested under a variety of application which will offer professional performance in categories of toughness, strength (lateral stress) and edge honing and holding ability. In a 5 spot Rockwell test our blades will average near or close to 58 which offers a perfect balances between its toughness and strength."

Not enough info supplied by them to be my cup of tea. Certainly a wide selection.

You Are Absolutely Correct...Research Is Definitely A Friend. The knifemaker that made my One Piece Rambo style knife...He's not From here...the USA...He has worked for in knife making for 17 years I think he said...He decided to try using his experience and making knives on his own...at his home. I learned about him through a family member friend. So I contacted him. He made several knives for me to my design and liking and made just what I wanted.

So then we discussed the Rambo style knife. After what I thought was a weak design, we both came up with the One Piece Rambo knife thought. So he said he would give it a shot. He sent me pic after pic, and videos, of the process. Just like when Ray Matton made my First Blood knife.

If someone likes his One Piece Rambo knife idea, and even if they want one with a smaller blade, just let me know. I agreed to try and sell some of his knives.

At his home inside a factory in Pakistan?

Although I don't doubt the one piece Rambo knife was made to some of your order and specifications, the extremely low sabre grind is a feature very typical of the styling of Pakistani made knives... It does save a lot on grinding time, and produces low cutting performance if not deeply hollow ground... This style of grind is not for people who know knives... The fact he did not follow your preferred sawback design is strange for a totally US made custom knife... Especially one entirely made from one piece... Perhaps the maker is in the US to respond to your specs, but the odd blade styling says to me he definitely is of the "Pakistani school" of blade making...

I have to say the very sharp corners around the guard, with barely any radius anywhere, and the fact that the guard's width deeply protrudes from the side, which means a lot of extra work for no reason, really make me wonder if this thing is truly one-piece... I would not be surprised that if you stripped it down you found it was 3 pieces welded together...: Tube, guard and blade, because it certainly looks like that...

In addition, the fact that the guard is so long and protrudes so far from the main body virtually guarantees that this is not a one-piece knife, since the extra waste material this would entail is just huge... That, the sharp corners protruding, and the reluctance to take credit pretty much clinches it... Even the sheath itself has pretty much "Paki-made" written all over it...:

Then there is the photographic style and huge number of models from this supposedly "custom" maker, all of them in odd Paki-style of manufacture, with even the exact usual Paki-style of photography and glitzy background...:

I'd say the chances of all this being anything other than Pakistani made junk are pretty low... If it looks like a duck... You know the rest.

I can't believe I agree with Gaston! Sorry Mr. Beast. Those look awfully shady. Hope yours is somehow different than the rest of their stuff.

Surprisingly, I'm agreeing with Gaston as well. And I definitely do hope that your knife is what you think it is, but the Pakistani stuff that are sold under that name on ebay don't inspire a ton of confidence.

What about big ass folders?! What constitutes a folder as big? Length, weight?

My balisongs are pretty damn long, the spydie szabo is pretty huge too :D

Honestly? I have no flipping clue. I just was hopping on the bandwagon of making a completely useless post and randomly referencing the thread title as make it seem I am on topic. Here, ill do it again. Big ass knives are big. :D

Are you sure a short hollow grind is the best choice for a cleaver/"clever"?

Ok! Sorry to quote this post again, but it is relevant to the update!

I messaged the seller of this knife listed in this sales thread and asked where his knives were made. You will see my question at the bottom of the photo below.

To the OP:
Thedemonbeast: would you like to refute this statement from the maker of this knife that is being sold under the name "Ozair Custom"?

Eta, I don't have many large knives, as they are not conducive to an effective daily carry.
I do have one old fish head lopper that I will post a pic of later on tonight, but that is about all I have. Aside from a Becker BK4 and BK5 that I modded extensively.

I have to say that at first I was not too happy with the way he did the serrations area. But he assured me that he tested them to saw and they work decent.

On what? Those flat teeth have no angle at all and the bevel will only add to the problem.

^^^^ Now that is one bad ass big ass knife!!!
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

I'll play. :D Have a "few" bigguns... ;) Nothing less than 9.5" blade here.
