Big Bowie Critique

Not sure I would go with a two piece (sandwich) guard. I would slot it and slide it up to the ricasso. I would worry about a two piece coming loose under heavy use. I think you will find that that guard shape is going to get in the way if you really start "working" the knife hard.

I agree with this. I would also like to second Darrin Sanders on removing the sharp ends of the guard. At best I find it visually unappealing, at worst it could be dangerous or annoying to the user. Why is the hump on the underside of the handle so far forward? I have a hard time imagining two fingers fitting in between the hump and the guard.

The points will deffinatly get rounded a bit when I'm fitting the guard. The bottom hump is where it is because it fits my hand the first version I had it was a little further back but my ring finger landed right on the apex.

Just sent in the drawing to the waterjet shop, ill be dropping off th material in the morning.
I made the cut out and im very happy with the fit in my hand, all i changed from the last picture was i extended the guard further away from the handle a bit.
Thanks for all your help guys ill post some pics when i start working on it.
