Big chopper knife?

I love my BK9. It chops well but is surprisingly knife like also. Its size makes it first to be left behind a lot of outings but when I make room for it it always comes in handy and is fun to use.

Rtak2, Ontario marine Bowie, a bar heavy Bowie... I've used each extensively and I am very pleased with these knives.

Get a Pro Tool Apache Bolo. I think they are discontinued but I just bought two of them off the big auction site for less than $40.00 each. That price is a steal! They are a 1/4 thick and heavy (31oz.) for chopping and come with a sheath.

I will be checking these out!

KaBar BK9 Combat Bowie or BK5 Magnum Camp.

There is good reason that the BK9 is also known as "the King" and that the BK5 has earned it's title as Magnum Camp.

And the BK5 is currently on sale for $60~$65.

I would say a Becker Bk9, or an Ontario Rtak II, or Sp5/ kukri if your on a budget, a Junglas, or an egkh traditional service khukuri.
The traditional khukuris are very underrated in how versatile they actually are

It's called the Nuclear Meltdown Fusion Battle Mistress, NMFBM for short(er). They don't currently offer this particular model, but they have one that's about that size if you go to their website. Otherwise keep an eye on the exchange.

You already have the Junglas, which is better than ontario or the Becker which people keep on recommending. You want something more substantial than that. I would go Busse, Custom or GSO-10.

I use the Busse basic 11 and love it. I have had many choppers and this one fit me the best. The Fehrman Final Judgement worked well for me as well.

How much do you want to spend?

My big chopper is a Scrap Yard 1111 and works exceptionally well..

Benchmade is now producing a bolo and clip point blade in 1095 carbon with nice leather pants..both are 10" blades. IMHO these are a steal for the price, I plan on picking up one of these myself for a spare/extra.

I do like the looks of the Fehrman and have thought quite a bit about that one.

Shaving sharp is the guy I bought mine from if memory serves me right, in fact I think I have bought two Fehrmans and a Busse from him. He is a wealth of knowledge and has some good prices on his personal stock when willing to let something go, might be worth sending him a PM. Also look into Bill Seigle, I have had a few from him, he makes a hell of a knife. I always wanted one of his Jungle Knives.

I own or have owned a lot of big choppers. Junglas. Busse Steel Hearts and Battle Mistresses. Swamp Rats. Ka-Bars. HI khuks. Customs. My go-to, however, is still the Becker BK-9. It fits my hand and just plain works the way I like.

Someone mentioned the Siegle Jungle knife. Also a great choice.

You won't go wrong with a T.M. Hunt M-18 either.

I would not recommend the bk9, my friend owns both the rtak ii and the bk9. Ive used both extensively and the rtak ii out preforms it in every single way. the rtak with its ffg carves wood better, i also think the bk9's handle is a bit too small for chopping. batoning with the rtak is easier because the bk9's clip point is very abrupt, but the rtak's clip point allows you to baton with the full length of the spine. All of this is based on my experience with the knives, and in no way is meant to put down Ethan or his designs. my vote is with the rtak ii (which i will be ordering soon) or the falci manaresso.
