Big chopper knife?

I like this one! :D

Bill Siegle's knives come up on the exchange often enough, he's also a member of this forum. Maybe shoot him an email.

I have one of his knives, in 5160 I believe, with a bolo shape and with its FFG it works quite well for chopping/wood processing.

Also have one made by Christopher Berry (Big Chris here) in 3v and right around 4mm thick. Bites quite deep.

I really like this one that Dylan Fletcher makes, it's 3/16 and not very heavy really, but I think it has good weight distribution and inertia developmet. I enjoy using it, but I in the interest of full disclosure I am also a bit biased having played a major role in the design of it.

Yeah, pretty serious :) and thanks, I spent a lot of time in my younger days exploring in south Florid making quick shelters when the rains were coming in. Technique was pretty important to speed and not working myself to death :)

Thank you. Yes it does, Dylan does excellent grinds, as well as excellent handle ergonomics. I love his work. When I designed this one I combined elements from two of my favorite knives, the bowie and the kukri into a 10 inch blade for something that gave me the functionality of a short machete with a nice point. Dylan nailed it very well I think.

Hattori made knives are among the very best production knives in the world!
I think You will enjoy any of the 3 listed.
I own and use the Fällkniven A2, NL1 Tor, but also the NL2 Odin.

The 8" knives are great in a daypack and covers my way of using a big knife.
The 10" Tor is another thing and it's the centerpiece in my collection.

Already the Odin is a great user for the tasks listed.

Wow, I have never used a knife that required hearing protection. :D

That knife really takes a bite from oak. I would be pretty pleased too. Great pictures.
