Big, fat gunshow haul

Alrighty, got impatient to wait for this to get settled to popped by the hardware store before closing. It was indeed 7/64"! Tightened up durn hard and they're feeling solid now.

I wouldn't have expected any reasonable amount of tightening to eliminate the play, but here we are.

Thanks for the help guys!

Well, this is yet another time that I should have stayed away from the show.......

Man, I wish I could get out to a show - one in Kintucky!
Nice pack. Does it have attachments on the bottom for straps for a roll? I have been shopping for one but have not been able to stop buying knives.:o

Did you get the poncho there too? I have been considering a GI poncho in lieu of something spiffier, like an 8' x 10' Siltarp, until I can stop buying knives long enough to build my allowance back up.:o

Hi Jeff- The pack has those square, rubbery attachment points at the bottom- that kind with four openings. So you could lash a roll to it. I think with that, and a poncho liner, you'd have all you need for any summer/spring/fall night imaginable.:thumbup:

I actually picked up the poncho a year or two ago, it's a solid buy for sure. This is a 'copy' of a military one, but it's still solid. Got it at www.campingsurvival.com

They are a pleasure to do business with, and have tons of stuff. If you get it, I'd recommend going ahead and getting the poncho liner. I'm in the market for one after I rebound from all the spending. But once you have the poncho you want the liner too. :D

That's exactly what I was thinking. I have done business with campingsurvival. The fella sold me some nice firesteels that have nagnesium in them (I suppose) because they are sort of soft and you can scrape a pile off and then give it a quick strike onto the pile - fireworks! Very nice guy too. I'll check that out. I am looking at a similar pack here:
http://wardenssupplyco.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=124
but was not sure about the quality. Not that $25 would kill me but it's one more piece of junk sitting around until I pawn on, er,... give it as a gift to someone.:foot:

Definitely not a bad looking pack.

I can say that as soon as I got this home, I was interested in finding one of those harness/suspender sets. This would work really well that way.

The gas mask bag is way cooler than the fake eagle pack! I am so sick of made in china stuff that it has to be WAY better or much cheaper than any other version to buy it.
The gas mask bag is a great size ,has a strap and is a neat natural looking material. It will undoubtedly wear way better than the Feagle bag. It also is way more interesting and has more texture to the fabric.

I have a couple canadian Gas mask bags and other gear from the 82 series gear.
It was lousy for actual military use because the closures would swell in the rain and be hard to open.It works great for camping though and is very similar to US Veitnam era gear.
I use a lot of it for motorcycle bags because the velcro attachments are super strong.
They even hold the super heavy lock on with no problem.
