Last week I realized I haven't had enough 'Sharp By Coop' this year. So sent this one right out. Coop did not disappoint. :D

Very Pointy 11.75" Damascus Blade (W2,1084,15N20), Damascus fittings, Subtle S Guard and a nice piece of fossil Walrus Ivory.

Thanks for lookin and do let me know what ya think.

i have nothing to say other than my jaw dropped open:eek:

Right in time to decimate the competition in the best Bowie thread :)

Fantastic Bowie

Looks like ya ain't been fishing

I gotta admit that is a fine piece of work.
Beautiful piece of ivory, and all the elements add up to create correct flow.

knife aside, Coop's choice of background is interesting to say the least. The use of texture elevates things and creates a nice effect without overpowering, indeed it seems to complement.

As for the knife, to my eye, it's pretty much perfect and very uniquely 'Hanson'.

I think it is a very sad commentary, when a maker of Don Hanson III's high reputation victimizes a novice collector by delivering what might pass, to the untrained eye as a "Bowie Knife". The multitude of flaws and defects is much too numerous to mention. I am frankly shocked!

I am willing to right this terrible wrong, to protect the integrity of the Blade Forum's custom knife community.

If Don's victim contacts me directly, I will discreetly make good on his loss from this swindle.

Furthermore, I will ensure that this monstrosity offends no more innocent eyes, by placing it at the very back of my display cabinet!

Peter, I have a special blade for ya, it's a little warped but you can hide it in the back of your display. :D

WOW, thats another beauty Don.:thumbup:
How'd you do deer hunt'in this year?

Bill

Didn't hunt much Bill, too busy makin knives and I'd rather go fishin anyway. How'd you do?

Thanks for the very good words, Gents. I really appreciate it!

That long sucking sound you heard was me extracting this bowie from the 19" Bill's case.

As it usually is with Don's work: Less is more. One profile shot is enough for the core image, to gain full impact. Ka-POW!

Lorien: Thanks. This was a risk, but I wanted to play in the mud. ;)
