Big Honkin' Bowie

NICE flow and I dig this one as much as everyone else.
Mark me down as another one that appreciates Coop's image.
Wicked Bowie, Don !

Takes my breath away, it looks effortless. I am not sure what I mean by that because obviously it took a lot of effort but everything about it is just right. Todd

Love that blade. The damascus looks great, particularly with this blade shape. Coop, great shot of the steel that grabbed my eyeballs!!!

Thanks, man. I asked because I think that might be a popular mix for damascus kitchen knives. Some of the foodie fanatics like what they have seen so far from straight W2 blades. Are you alternating W2, 15N20. 1084, 15N20, etc?
Joe, W2 is around 40%. I'm using more of it damascus lately. Is good stuff!:D

Thanks again, folks!

Believe me, Don's figured out a witches brew in his steel. That's the real deal, with barely a peppering of contrast. I gave it a WD40 wipedown and went to work.

Notice his darkened tempering line. Just right.

Thanks again back to all, especially Don. Superstar knives make ME look good. :D

WOW!!! Absolutely stunning Don!

I predict a "contender" for Bladeforums "Best Bowie of the Year" right there!

Joe I don't remember how I stacked the billet. It is 140 layer though and that's less than I usually do.

The word 'flow' keeps coming up here and it's good to see, as it is the single most important element I shoot for, besides performance. I appreciate you guys noticing that.

Also the background Coop chose really make this knife stand out. Really like what Coop did here! Thanks bud!

I think you and Coop just won Roger's upcoming Bladeforums Best Bowie thread!!!!!

Right in time to decimate the competition in the best Bowie thread :)

Fantastic Bowie

Looks like ya ain't been fishing

WOW!!! Absolutely stunning Don!

I predict a "contender" for Bladeforums "Best Bowie of the Year" right there!

Coop compared it to slipping in a high bid at the last few seconds of an auction. Snippin! :D

Would be nice if it makes the finials...

Sometimes there is nothing nicer than a great ladder pattern!

Everything "fits" perfectly, Don - blade picks up the pattern, handle and guard accentuate without overpowering

Love it :D

Don,

A superb piece! Great pattern and lines. The only thing I would like is a pommel buttplate, with a finial. To me, that would really enhance the overall look. My two cents worth.
