Hi Guys :)

Here's the latest knife finished, a big chopper forged from 6150 with machine finished bevels, hand sanded flats/spine/choil, radiused spine & choil, 416 ss guard with satin finish, and sculpted black G10 handle (hand finished to 1500X for a bit of shine without being slick).

It's pretty darn big---

OAL- 16-1/2"
Blade- 11-1/16"L x 2-3/16"W x 0.315" thick at the guard.

Comments are welcome--- please just keep it civil so the thread doesn't get locked by the mods.

Thanks for looking! :)

I know some folks don't care for G10, but I love how tough it is, and this pattern that comes out when there are curves in a handle...

I wish I had more time to redo this video. It took WAY too long to get though the 2X because of how I had it set-up--- lots of wasted energy. But it still shows a little bit of cutting,so here 'ya go. BTW- @1 min into it, I realized I cut through a nail... oops, LOL :)

That just goes to show camp knives can be bad ass :)

Love the handle

yep, hanging on to a 2x4 with one hand, while you chop at it with the other, is about the worst possible way to do the job.
I admire your strength :)

If you keep this up, you may have a future making knives.

Another beauty!

I like it, Nick. The blade profile is very nice...who can help but like such a beast?!!

That's one sexy beast Nick! kinda makes me wanna get "uncivil" up in here ;) lol I actually really like when you use G10 on your blades. It's refreshing to me and cool seeing such a big chunk of it so beautfull sculpted etc. don't get me wrong though, I love your wood handles too! Thanks for sharing brother :)

Very nice. No need to apologize for a nice g10 handle round here. I like the abbreviated top guard, and radiused spine. Nothing I dislike about it.

Lucky me, good timing. Glad it ain't got no hamon :):D

I love the purity/simplicity of a Loveless. This "big-azz" piece of Nick's had the same magnetic draw on me that a Loveless does, when I saw it in the Exchange. Now I'll get to see what all the fuss is about.

I was going to tell him to hit it with his purse :)

And suddenly I'm taken back to splitting firewood as a kid and my Dad saying, "Hit it like 'ya got a set!"

:o ;)

Thanks for checking this out guys, I appreciate it.

FWIW ***I haven't been this nervous about sending a knife to a collector in a long while. :foot:

Thank you Bob! :)

That's a monster, Nick. The G-10 and machine bevels are great for functionality, and the Wheeler slick details and lines give it that extra class.

You're gonna cut a finger off, chopping like that, though. What a video that'll make!

Thank you Bob! :)

I thought you would like that :)

Bob big congrats

Looks all business! 2 3/16ths wide and that awesome looking handle. I think it is all business.

Great chopper, congrats Bob!

Looks pretty close to the one Im waiting on. Hint. Hint:)

Also looks great. Glad to see you knockin out some fine pieces.

I think the g10 looks great. The blade profile is cracking too. It's the sort of knife you could take out into the woods and ask anything from, I just love blade with a big belly on them.

Nice n' big, lotsa beef in the right places.

I first watched the vid last night, sound was off because my wife was asleep next to me. This morning over a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats I watched it again with the sound up and my wife thought I was watching shooting videos. That thing has steam!
Was wondering what Nick was eyeballing at the 1:00 mark then read it was a nail that sacrificed itself for the vid. Did you have safety glasses on Nick? Hey, only cause we care about ya!

Congrats Bob on a keen eyed score from the exchange. Love this piece, Nick.
