I love the purity/simplicity of a Loveless. This "big-azz" piece of Nick's had the same magnetic draw on me that a Loveless does, when I saw it in the Exchange. Now I'll get to see what all the fuss is about.

Bruce- the blade was taken to a 300ish finish with a semi-worn Gator belt. It's actually "easier" for me to hand finish a blade and say when it's done.
I spend a lot of time struggling to get a machine finish that I'm happy with. If the blades were just flat ground it would be easy, but the slight convex geometry makes it a bugger for me.
A finely hand finished, mono steel blade is one of my personal favorites... but for some knives I think the machine finish helps to convey a "work-horse" feeling.
Or we can just blame it on Joe Paranee.![]()
