Big Rick - Deadbeat buyer

He sure sounds like a deadbeat to me!

Don't take it personally TK, but we want to be fair and want to get all the facts so that we can come to the same conclusion as you.
 
Yeah, he's a "deadbeat" but he didn't run off with the knife and not pay you, you still have your property. He put you to some trouble and aggravation, that's why we have a FEEDBACK forum, to warn others about doing business with him. Not fraud, not a banning offense.
 
Esav: I agree, he qualifies as a Deadbeat. He's aggravated two of us knifemakers, for sure. As far as property goes, I had to rehandle the knife in order to sell it. I just posted it today as a matter of fact - a month is long enough to wait for a Deadbeat. As far as banning him from the BF site, maybe I was a little too harsh. However, since his shameless behavior, I've instituted a $100 deposit policy on special orders. I guess I should send him this thread to let him know his behavior was unacceptable and that the knifemakers here are on to him.

This sounds like a good plan. If a customer orders something that would be hard for you to resell if he were to back out, be unable to pay, etc., it's perfectly reasonable to require a deposit.

I would say so. One of the few things in life we actually control is our word. It is ether good or it is not. Good sometimes is still bad.
