Big W2 and Koa bowie

I really like the Damascus guard coupled with the slightly understated hamon and handle wood choice. It all makes for a very handsome and solid package.

Well you guys sure know how to make a guy's day!!! :) THANK YOU!!!

To have both big league collector/friends, as well as big league knife maker/friends posting here has truly lifted my spirits!!!

Mike Ruth Jr.--- you passed me up a long time ago, but I really appreciate and respect that you try not to rub it in my face. :foot: :D

Dave- I will sure miss seeing you guys too!!! Having dinner with you, Mike Q, Mike&Marcy V, and Angi last year at Paesanos was easily one of my favorite moments from the week-end!!! :D

Brian- just holler at me, my wait time is actually a lot shorter than it used to be. ;) :p Seriously though, it would be nice to get you and Greg back up here soon. I get tired of just talking to the dogs during the day. Okay, I don't get tired of it, but having someone who can actually talk back would be a nice change of pace ;)

Robert- you are far too kind to me my friend... but I sure appreciate it!

Adam- my saving grace is the boys do not drool much at all. We really lucked out in that department!!! Now the dog HAIR on the other hand... Yes... even though Angi and I both very actively clean our home... we have found puppy hair in the butter dish, the freezer, and even in the back of the underwear drawer. :o LMAO! It's only funny because it's true.

Jon--- that is an influence that I most certainly have drawn a lot of inspiration from. The whole reason I ever started doing any embellishment like this spacer's line cuts and fluting, was seeing knives with similar treatments from Jim Schmidt and Tim Hancock! :) I'm very proud that you would make a connection from my work to Tim's!!!

Mark--- for the record.... You ARE my friend!!! And my wood pimp!!! :D

Roger, Kevin, Coop--- thank you guys for taking note of the fittings. :) I spent as much time on them as I did the rest of the knife combined.

Keith--- if you are ever on the other side of the globe, just holler at me. Just getting to hear an Australian accent all day would be worth a day of shop time. :)

Thanks guys!!! :)

BTW- there is another W2 blade in the shop that was done with no clay, and it is more wild and crazy than anything I have ever gotten WITH clay. Hopefully it will be ready to share here much sooner than later!
Righto, I'll make sure I give you a yell. Would love to spend a day in your shop mate!
Cheers Keith

A little late to this party but boy Nick, there's some exciting new stuff here. I am always amazed at your eye for detail but this knife show how microscopic that eye is.

Unbelievable how crisp that line in the wood is with such a finely sanded finish. And lines perfectly mated into the damascus... Wow!

Wonderful work Nick.

Absolutely beautiful knife. Big admirer of your work and hope to acquire one of yours one day.

I love the guard dude..
5 stars..

Most excellent work once again. Is that another no clay hamon? You have definitely nailed that process. Looks amazing.

Was kind of curious, do you tend to go thinner with the handles using stabilized wood vise the non stabilized or do both get the same treatment as far as thickness of finished work goes. You seem to always be pushing the envelope (in my limited opinion) on the shapes and thickness of your finished hidden tang handles.

That guard is a symphony in metal, exquisite detailing, the overall lines are also perfection. Bravo!

I was hesitant to post after giving another knife maker credit for your Peck award, Nick. :o
No way I can't post after seeing this magnificent Bowie though.
Fantastic work, love it !
