BigBrad75 recently posted a For Sale thread for the recently released ZT 0560CBCF in s110v. I had been looking for one and dealers seemed to be out. I wasn't down for waiting, so I paid the premium of $455 shipped to acquire one of those beauties. Anyway, that's not the issue. What ensued throughout the deal is pretty slimey and fairly unethical. I would not be doing all of you justice if I didn't bring this occurrence to light.
Let me preface by saying I received the knife, brand new in box, great specimen. Nothing wrong there.
What BigBrad75 did do is buy the knife from Dave Anderson (kershawguy) for $385 and have him ship the knife directly to me. Dave has no fault in this, as he was unaware what was going on, and is truly angry at the situation as well since the facts came to light. Essentially, BigBrad75 made a profit off a knife that he did not even have in his possession. Not only that, but he misled me the entire time in our email conversation, frequently referring to how he spoke to the clerk at the PO and how he even bought a special crush-proof box to ship the knife in.
My suspicions began when the knife arrived with Dave Anderson's return address, packed in his normal boxes with standard brown paper wrap and all. I am a repeat customer of Dave's, so I've seen this exact packing many times.
When questioned about it, BigBrad75 did not deny it. He admitted to what he did. However, there was absolutely no apology or any attempt to make what he did right. I will post the email conversation from the start of the deal to the end of the deal below for everyone to see.
BigBrad75 says:
Hey, $450 sounds good, if you could send it via paypal gift that would be great, paypal to
*********@hotmail.com asap, or please let me know if you don't want it. Thanks for the inquiry..
Brad
NYOutdoors says:
Unfortunately I don't use the Gift option like that...is it still OK for $450?
BigBrad75 says:
Hey, the fees on it would be around fifteen dollars, so would you be ok with adding $5 to the total to kinda help with the fees?
BigBrad75 says:
Just please let me know either way as soon as possible, another member had actually pm'd me right before your email but I hadn't seen it until just now...
NYOutdoors says:
Ok $455 is incoming
NYOutdoors says:
Payment sent, can you ship tomorrow USPS priority?
BigBrad75 says:
Payment received, I'll let you know when it ships... (priority mail)
Thanks
NYOutdoors says:
Thanks for working with me man! Will it go out tomorrow?
NYOutdoors says:
Hi Brad,
Just touching base and hoping the knife went out today. If you have it, tracking number would be great.
BigBrad75 says:
here's the tracking info, it is shipped insured, and trackable, and the clerk assured us that it would be there by Friday, please let me know when it shows up.
*************
Thanks,
BRAD
NYOutdoors says:
Thank you!
Ouch...first class. Had more than one problem with them "guaranteeing" it will be delivered on a certain day. I wish you would have done Priority. Small flat rate isn't too much.
BigBrad75 says:
Yea I know but the zt box wouldn't fit in a small flat rate and I bought a crush proof box to ship it in and I told them to ship it priority but when I checked the tracking number I saw it was first class but it'll still be there by Friday. Sorry
BigBrad75 says:
Looks like the ZT is being delivered today, Thursday. Quick enough for ya? Apparently first class aint that bad!
I think as long as it's insured they treat it the same as they would priority... Let me know what you think about it! Thanks. Hope you're not mad, never heard back from ya after that last email response. Talk to you soon.
Brad
NYOutdoors says:
ops, sorry for not getting back to you. All is well that ends well! I wasn't mad, just hopeful it would get here on time. Thank you sir! I'll let you know when I have it in hand.
NYOutdoors says:
Hi,
Got the knife. Curious why the return address is Dave Anderson from kershawguy.com and why it is packed exactly as he does, in the same exact boxes he uses.
BigBrad75 says:
Had that one drop shipped from Dave, just easier to relay what he said about the shipping process than to explain that. Glad it got there so quickly. Hope you like it.
NYOutdoors says:
So you didn't even have the knife in your possession and you turned a profit on it? Telling me "it should go out tomorrow, but you know, life happens" and that you bought a special box and told the clerk to ship it priority?
Awfully slimey in my opinion...
NYOutdoors says:
Don't you think?
BigBrad75 says:
Yes I agree. But like I said, just passing along the info he had told me. I asked him it it would go out tomorrow, and that's what he said, and I asked him to ship small priority, and he said that it wouldn't fit in the small priority and he used the crush proof boxes and they were just as fast as priority. I'm not saying what I did was right, but I was just back what he had said, just leaving out the fact that it was being drop shipped. I do agree it was slimy, and I shouldn't have done it like that, or even at all.

This situation has been brought to the attention of Bladeforums moderators. I can't, in all good conscience, let this go unnoticed. On paper, you are one of the most trustworthy members of the community, with 100% positive feedback and over 100 ratings. People automatically trust you and your ethics, while it's obvious from this situation you are lacking morals and ethics in some respects.
I also find it amusing that caught red handed, you simply admit to it. Not even the slightest gesture to make up for it or even an apology. Hopefully you realize that being slimey and greedy has consequences.
BigBrad75 says:
Cool. Can't say I blame you. What I did was against the rules. Out of all the years I've been a member, I break a rule once, yes once, this was the first time I have ever done anything like this, and I had what I considered to be good reasons, but whatever helps you to sleep at night I suppose. You act like what I did was just an ungodly act of terrorism. You received your knife in two days time, completely brand new as described. I just thought that it made sense to save the shipping costs being that I didn't need it because I already had one, and instead of sending you the one that I've played with a few times, I opted to have him send you the brand new one. Go ahead, and do whatever you feel you have to do. I broke no crimes, I did break a rule on Bladeforums, and I do feel badly for that. I don't quite understand your anger personally, and you would have gotten more of an apology had you not acted like a dick since day one. Please refrain from contacting me anymore, I don't see why you continue to antagonize this situation. Thanks and have a good day, hopefully we can both learn something from this.
That's the end of the emails, as he asked me to stop contacting him. I realize he has over 100 feedback ratings, 100% positive. It is difficult to believe that someone with that level of feedback would do this. However, unethical and slimey is what it is...and it needs to be said.
