I understand the position of the OP and the general disdain towards the seller, but is the indignation towards him because he made a profit? Or is it because he made a profit off of "drop shipping" it? (Ie: he bought the knife AFTER he had it sold to the OP.)

He turned a profit off a product he did not own. If he bought that knife from Dave, had it in his possession, decided it wasn't for him and then sold it for a profit, that's fine. Buyers can choose to pay a premium for a product (like I did).

My problem is that he misled everyone involved (myself and Dave), made a profit off something he didn't own. It is something he did out of pure greed, and he also lied throughout the deal about what he was doing until he was caught red-handed.

Makes more sense to me now as to why you are upset. It took so long for him to develop a positive rep and now he has tainted it for a few dollars... Shameful.

This in a nutshell. He took advantage of Dave's low prices and before he even had the knife in his hands, had flipped it for a profit. Buying the knife was never about owning the knife, it was about flipping it for a profit. I'm sure no one on a knife forum would be upset about someone else buying a knife to own the knife, it's the buying it with the intention of flipping it immediately that ticks us off.

what is up with all the shady people on the forums lately. first KE now this. all I have to say is WOW, another added to the ignore list.

Totally understand the OP and his frustration. Maybe BigBrad75 will make it right by 1st apologizing , coughing up the profit he didn't earn (he took no risk)and realizing he isn't so Big where it matters (his heart)

I get the impression sometimes that some members think they are dealing with brainless twits who don't know how to put 2 and 2 together. Geeze , at least while your planning your next transaction consider the Golden Rule for at least a second and the forum rules the entire time. Then this crap would never happen.

The profit is not a problem. Selling your place in line is not a problem. Lying about the shipping is a problem. Misleading you where the knife was coming from is the main issue in my opinion.

Just a question. Why did the vendor allow for the change of shipping?

Feedback is 100% right up until it isn't anymore. The blemish on his score will make people think first, even 100/1.

There has been more "situations" around the 0560CBCF than I have seen in a long time. I am guessing that all LE release and pre-orders will have these issues going forward. Vendor will need to adjust their policies but there is only so much that can be done.

...............

^^^ This right here. I sold my place in line for a collectible before. Not a knife, and on a different forum, but I posted right up front, "You're not buying ........, you're paying for my place in line to get one". Sure, I probably could have gotten more to buy and drop ship it, but I didn't feel right doing that. All parties were happy and onboard that way.

I had a minor run with him myself. A few years ago he posted a beautiful Inlaid Sebenza for sale on here. I was out of town eating at a nice restaurant with my wife. We were about 1.5 hrs from home. I was using the restaurants wifi with my ipod touch to surf (I didn't have a smartphone back then) when I saw the knife, my grail knife! I just had to have it so I posted "I'll take it" and sent him an immediate message that as soon as I got home, approx 2 hrs, I would send him an immediate Paypal payment for the knife if that would be ok with him. If memory serves he said ok and I signed off to eat since the ordered meal had arrived on the table. As soon as I walked through the door at home approx 2 hrs after I spoke with him I signed in to the forum on my laptop only to read in the thread it was sold to the next in line due to non payment from me! I was hurt more than anything. My feedback is 100% so he had no reason not to trust me. Oh we'll someone else got my beautiful Sebenza.

Selling something you don't actually have...

Like I said I'd love to hear the reason for this, minus any equivocation or rationalizing.
