Bowie Knife.jpg

My first Bowie. 5th knife. 15" O/A, 2" wide

Handle is from a deer my father shot 70 years ago.

If i was doing it with what I know now I wouldn't make the guard so heavy.

Hey, i didn't know about Blade Forums then.

Thanks, man.
Drop point big blades don't usually get a lot of love.

Doug

I love these,i matter of fact- i believe they are most effective in chopping ability due to curvature of edge, same apply to khukuries...Who made this blade,if i may ask? Really unique example

I posted the maker & specs, Chris Moss, haven't had any contact with him
in over a year but he made all kinds of interesting blades even some Jpz. style.
Chris also works for NASA and is recently married.
This one was his homage to DH3 (Don Hanson III).

Thanks for info Doug!

I think this Bowie will be hard to beat. It was posted on eBay in August of 2015. The knife was apparently made by John N. Cooper, and is 37 inches long. I don’t know who took the pictures, and I don’t know if someone bought the knife.

I built this beast last year.
