Assuming legality isn't an issue. I'm carrying a Team Gemini again. Owned a few variants. As for folders, I've regularly carried a pair of Rajah2.

(This is a TGLB ^)

I’m pretty comfortable with up to about a 12” fixed when at the trailer or in and around town in cottage country. I don’t carry a fixed blade at all when in Toronto.

I use a 24” Kershaw machete (18” blade) a lot, bit wouldn’t carry it out and about in public.

I don't carry a knife for defense purposes but I do like a folder on the larger side. Currently carry a Benchmade Crooked River when I'm not in the office.

Not mine but why not. 10'' blade.

Carried a Raja and an XL Espada....because I could. Normally I edc a 4 inch folder like a Spyderco Military, a little smaller in the Large Sebenza or somewhere in that range. All depends on my mood. For fixed blades I carry whatever I need, 20+ inch machete or a 10 inch heavy fixed blade like a Busse BM, depends on what I am doing.

I figure you mean carrying around with you day to day. Normally no larger than 3.5" - 4" blade for folders and 5" - 6" blade for fixed blades. Don't have much need to carry fixed blades during a regular day though. Sometimes use a 12"+ machete when out in the bush, but that's not that often.

Nice Gemini!

Yes, as daily carry.

There is a 4.6in legal limit here. Oddly enough I feel more weird carrying a 4.5in fixed blade over carrying a not so legal 3.5in folder in my pocket...
I should just start carrying a legal fixed blade just to annoy and weird people out.

I think 6"-7" blades for fixed blades. Really just because I carry IWB, and that's about the right length to have most of the knife below my belt and therefore stable, but not so long that it requires a lot of readjusting when I sit.

If legality was no concern I still would probably just carry what I always typically do on a day-to-day basis-- a folder in the 3 - 3.5 inch range. I never really found myself in any typical EDC situation where I needed more. If I am camping or hiking that is when I carry a larger fixed blade. I don't carry a blade for a self defense purpose(that's what my CCW is for) so I don't consider that aspect when deciding what to carry. I just think utility and ease of carry.

Daily?

If I could carry a fixed blade daily, I'm not sure I would. I might find a way to carry a Rat 3/4 sized blade.

Realistically, I'm content with a folder with a 3.25" and 4" blade length.

As for SD, that's what the S&W M&P9c is for.

I have a 22inch blade 3V slimline machete/brush sword I regularly carry on the farm. Just tote it over my shoulder like a shovel, axe, pick axe, etc. I carry larger fixed blades out in the woods too, machete or a chopper.
If you are talking about daily carry into the city, I don't carry more than a 4 inch folder, usually smaller. Fishing I'll have a 4-5 inch fixed blade, unless I am on a boat, then I'll carry larger. If I have to bushwhack to get to a fishing spot, then I'll bring larger, but I'd consider that being in the woods.
Oh, I'll carry a neck knife in the city on occasion.

The biggest I've ever EDC'd are the REKAT Sifu (in length) and the CS 4Max (in weight) and to be honest they are too big for me. I'm not even sure what the 4Max is supposed to be used for. The Sifu, at least, is supposed to be a fighter. They interest me and I keep them because they are exemplars of their breed (folding fighter and overbuilt folder) but honestly they don't get any use. :(

For fixed blade EDC carry, I usually max out around 3.5"ish. I carry my ESEE 3, but nothing bigger. Around my little slice of suburbia, what could necessitate a larger blade?

Even in the woods, I will only carry up to about 4.5"ish. A Mora Companion, Becker BK14, ESEE 4, etc... I just have no use for a larger blade and all it does is get in the way. That said, if i'm out in the woods, I almost always have a back pack with a small lightweight hatchet (Fiskars X7) and folding saw (Silky Pocketboy or Bahco Laplander, depending on which backpack I grab), so my chopping and wood processing needs are all taken care of without needing to involve the knife for anything other than detail work.

I do have a couple of large knives, but truth be told, they are toys to me, not for serious use. I can't think of a time where my Ontario SP5 would be a better choice than a hatchet and a ~4" fixed blade.

Yup. :p

For daily carry, I go folders, unless I'm in the woods. The longer the blade length is over 4 inches on a folder, the less likely I am to carry it.

If I'm camping or backpacking or spending a lot of time in the woods (other than just short day hikes) then I like to add a 6- or 7-inch fixed blade, and an extra backup (folder or fixed, depending on the situation and my mood) in addition to whatever folder is my EDC that day.
