Biggest Knife You Will EDC...

Biggest blade I have ever EDCd was a 9"(blade) custom. It was during a period that I went bowhunting everyday after work and I wanted to keep a decent sized blade on me in case I got stuck in the woods overnight. Never did, but I was prepared if it did happen.

In the city 3-4" (closed) folder under 3 oz. Outdoors 4-5" fixed blade under 8 oz if possible, but a little heavier is okay if I need the extra utility.

Used to carry a Blur, RAT-1, or Endura (3.5" blades +/- a little) back when I did more field work. Nowadays, I EDC 2.25"-3" blades (office and warehouse environments).

Less than 4" blade, less than 8.5" total, fixed. My EDC right now is an ESEE Izula II. Even this knife gets funny looks at a 2.625" blade. There are a lot of folders bigger than this. I suppose most people aren't used to seeing fixed blades.

The largest pocket carry for me is a ZT 560 or 561, then one of my large Sebenza's. I had a XM-24 but it is/was too large for the law where we are moving, so my XM-18's will have to do :D

In Colorado, so I have a 3.5" limit on knives. However, I'll usually go up to 4" - Military, Endura, BM710, Recon 1, etc. I usually carry a Skyline with me as well, so that's my main EDC knife, anyway.

The largest blade I feel comfortable carrying as an EDC knife is my Busse CABS and that's pushing it IMO.

I carry a 4" fixed blade or a ZT 0301 in the winter (when I am wearing a jacket).
In the summer my Spyderco Endura is the biggest I pocket carry.

4" military. I normally carry a pm2 or gayle Bradley(recently). The military carries so incredibly well for such a big knife.

Deimos is the biggest folder I own, so that's the biggest I will carry for now.

Up top, ignore the others- they're not mine anymore :(

Cold Steel 5.5 inch Voyager, though I have a smaller knife to use in front of others

It's not the size that bothers me, it's people's reactions. Otherwise I'd probably EDC a machete
:p
If I could, I would put this as my quote.

I EDC a BK2.

It's really not difficult.

Just under 4 inches for a folder EDC. (I EDC a Griptilian every day regardless)
Hunting EDC, It goes more for comfort than what others think. Noone's going to bother me when Im hiding from animals out in the woods anyways. :D Whatever isnt gonna be bouncing around really. Probably around 5 inches-ish......
Woods for fun, usually a hatchet or machete plus my Griptilian

I don't think I would go much larger than a Military. And that beast rides so nice in the pocket, for such a large package. Weight has never bothered me however.

Texas has a 5" limit IIRC, but I'll never carry something that big as an EDC. 4" is about the biggest folder I would carry. A fixed blade is smaller, maybe around 3" unless I'm doing something woodsy then it's whatever size seems fit.

Largest I'll EDC is a 3" blade, since that's apparently the largest I can open carry in Los Angeles, and I like using my knives' pocket clips, so I don't have to fumble through all the crap in my pockets to find them. Largest I've ever EDC'd was this 5" tacticool Smith & Wesson folder that I got from Big 5 for $17 back when I knew nothing about knives but liked them anyway and got all my knife advice from a gun nut who figured that, since S&W is a reputable gun company, they can make good knives too. Pretty big mistake. The thing wouldn't stay shut so it'd shake open whenever I started jogging lightly and the pocket clip was so weak that it'd fall out of my pocket when, again, I moved slightly faster than I normally do.
