Biggest Recent Non-Purchase Regret?

Zero regrets.
I did have two highly disappointing episodes recently though. One is still on going; one has been resolved into a happy ending.

When the Natural G10 Para 2 with M4 hit the market I hung around the online store drooling, pushing the e-mail me when available button and hoarding my money.
Never got an e-mail . . . :( . . . all the cool kids were posting about theirs . . . :( . . . :( . . .

Still drooling and howling I finally found a gentleman on the exchange who was willing to hook me up.
May all the blessings of the universe descend upon you and your off spring.

That was IT.
The it of its. I have been living in a continuous state of nirvana and I don't even own a nirvana.

Then ! ! ! Oh then Sal had to tempt me.
How can such a devil and a saint be all rolled up in the same dude ?
Sal says :" Hey kid; wouldn't you like a nice pattada with K390 ? ? ?"
and I starts to stamping my foot and howling and salivating all over again.

So far, for 2018, . . . nada.
~ :(
:D
I'm good with my Para2M4 FOR SURE !
But I would have liked a nice toy out there on the horizon. You know just for some thing to dream about.
Looks like it is way out there on the horizon . . . if it hasn't fallen off the edge of the earth.

Sal . . . this isn't fair. As wonderful as the Police in K390 is for many, many people I have decided it isn't for me. WANT THAT PATTADA !
Please.

I just passed up a Carter BBM (two actually) that's about as close as it gets for the entire year. I'd been trying to get one, but then as you'll see below went apesh*t. Plus when the offer came in (YT reviewer said LOOK!!) I was at the cardiologist discussing putting a new pacemaker in my 91 yr old Mother - those things ain't cheap.

So strangely right at the end of the year I've had knives drop in my lap that I'd passed on earlier, or just couldn't snap up in time. It was like all my regrets came back in a matter of weeks. It was getting weird. First was an Ochs Worx I'd salivated over as it Eric posted shots of the build, but it was already spoken for at that point - like most. Suddenly I was the third owner in less than 3 months. I think the second owner thought he scratched the blade (I didn't care), but it was easily taken care of with some Flitz. I grabbed 2 Gareth Bull Shamwari's straight from GB on IG almost as easy as walking into a grocery store, everybody else seemed to have missed out. 2 drops in a row!

I won an auction on a Les Voorhies Simplex that apparently nobody knew was being auctioned, and then got the GEC #78 American Jack Tidioute in Blue Camel Bone (Nᴼ 19) on KSF that was sold out in minutes. Finally grabbed an Olamic Swish that was a special one-off type thing for an absolutely insane price. The owner was a builder himself and needs new machinery. All this from mid November until now. So I can't complain one iota! Oh, and I won 4 raffles in a row (Robert Curtiss, Koenig Arius, WE Balaenoptera, Spyderco Squarehead) - one of the raffle holders actually sent me $5 to buy him some Lotto tickets!

I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing a Kizer lefty Laconico Gemini. I had no clue it was a limited run and figured that I'd just ask for it for Christmas... DAMMIT!!!

I think I saw those at a couple of shops recently, I don't know if it was an advertiser here though.

Thanks! I appreciate the heads up, but I got it now.
It was re-released last summer. I bought it the about 5 minutes after it dropped on BHQ.

A CRK CGG. I'm generally not a fan of them, but one really stood out to me. Unfortunately, by the time I decided to bite the bullet, it was gone. I'll hunt for it on the 2nd-hand market.

A Rassenti CKF on Exchange. I spent too much time googling about it then someone stole it from me :'(
I understood better the meaning of Seppuku at this very moment. Dishonor by self stupidity.

Knifecenter had all of their Steel Will knives on sale for 30% off. I hesitated in buying a Cutjack, because I've been going overboard in my knife buying. Wish I had popped on either the D2 or M390 version. I think part of the problem was that I agonized over which of the 4 options to get: 3" D2, 3.5" D2, 3" M390, or 3.5" M390. I really like the blue M390 version, but N. Shabazz put the doubt in me when he said that the D2 was a much better value. Hmmm.

And what have we learned here? Never, EVER second guess yourself based on what some yootoober (or anybody else) says or thinks. Ever. Like a knife, get the knife.

Who gives a hill of sh!t who thinks it's a good value or not? Don't base your decisions on what someone else likes. Go with what YOU like. If you do, you'll always be happy.

Personally, I should've bought more Kizers when they were on sale at bladehq. I did get one, but hesitated trying to decide between two others. I got to handle both at a knife store and when I went to order they were 30% more or so. :(

There was an 804cf on the Exchange a couple days ago. I got a 15% off coupon for an online site and got one brand new for $195 delivered. Keep looking.

I regret not having been into knives when the Victorinox Settler was being sold new for $25. Heck I probably wouldn't have ever bought any more folders...

There were two. I remember looking at the order forms for a Holt Specter and a Grimsmo Rask when they had open books and I hesitated for days and they closed, never to open again. Now I will never get one of them.

Hurts deep inside but with therapy I am slowly recovering and hope to live a normal life.
