Bill's Knife Case Giveaway

This is a cool giveaway thread, thanks. Don't consider me for the prize (I don't need the case) but I was inspired to put together a picture. I don't have as pretty or as matched a collection but these are my 6 traditionals:

Hey, Rob! Welcome back.

It never occurred to me to actually OPEN the knives so one could see the blades in the picture. Sheesh! I had a cat jumping all over the table amongst the knives while I was trying to arrange them. I finally gave up with any arrangement and took the picture before she decided to chew on one of them.

Well here is my entire collection. That sure looks like a nice case, I am overseas so if that rules me out, ignore my post otherwise if I have to contribute shipping then happy to as well. We have customs on the left and productions on the right. The customs are (from top downwards)

  • My first damascus slipjoint. 1075 and 15N20 Steel, Nickel Silver and Yellow Mallee Root Burl
  • My first custom from another maker. This one is a John Howser. ATS-24 and Carbon Fibre linerless shadow pattern. It just arrived in the mail today :)
  • The first slipjoint I made. O1 steel, Nickel Silver and antique paper micarta. This is the knife I carry everywhere with me. Despite not featuring my makers stamp or fly cutter done nail nicks and it doesn't have a shield and no longer being anywhere near the quality I aim to achieve now I can't resist carrying this one.
Now for the productions all manufactured by Case.

  • Sowbelly with cabernet jigged bone
  • Stockmen with red jigged bone
  • Peanut with brown plastic handles

I am yet to find my favourite knife pattern but I will definitely be getting more custom knives. I can really appreciate the work that goes into a well made multi-blade knife so I am heading that direction, which is unfortunately pricey :o

Thomason, this is the most fun giveaway I can remember--love the 6 at a time groupings.

Here are six more in burnt, or torched stag, showing the nice toasty yellow-browns.

Top three across are Chinese Rough Riders, bottom row are two USA Northfields and a German Boker.

I only had 5 GEC #23 patterns, so I added a Case Crandall large saddlehorn to make 6.

The swedged long pull two-blader in red wine bone at top right is one of the prettiest knives I own.

Congrats, Charlie, Now to give you more knife related activity with your new acquisition, you can rotate all of your knives through the case.
That should take about, what?, fifteen or twenty years per cycle, I figure. :p

Nice going, Rob!
