Bill's Poetry Book Pass-Around

I think I am at the bottom of the list.......I live in a far away land. I can wait. Good things comes last. :)

Howard,

If I could get a chance to get in on this and read some of Bills words I would be honored.

Thanks,

Rick S.

Please put Rice at this position in the pass-around list. Although he is no longer posting here his profile is still on Bladeforums and contains his e-mail address. He can be contacted there for address information when his turn rolls around.

Thanks.

Howard, I'd like a shot at it after Dick.

I actually have had a search out for this book with a guy who has hunted down stuff for me before. No luck so far, but if I do manage to snag a copy I'll let someone else move up.

Thanks,

Norm

FYI, got a call from a Bookseller in SF where I had put a request out. Seems some guy named Howard snagged the last copy a week before I contacted him by email. :D

Still, there should be others out there. It will be nice to read the same copy you all have read though, so I'm looking forward to it.

It doesn,t matter where you put me on the list . It might be a good idea to have the Canadian pass around one after the other .

I think so too. Nasty's idea of everyone signing the book as they get it is a good one. Guys can even make marginal notations, etc. For the crowd here, I think it adds value, like a HI yearbook. I was too cheap to unwrap everything to sign it after Nasty made his suggestion, but Red Flower and I did put our signatures and notes in the other pass-around book.

I am alone with God in solitude
Men are fools trying vainly to resist... Bill Martino

I still believe this will be,in time, avaliable to all.
I can see it posted, as proud affirmation of a very insightful man, on the HI site.

In time.

Oops Cross posting . This is supposed to be in Howards thread about his garden poetry . My bad . Feel free to move it if you wish .
To me it is as Howard says a matter of translation . That is the basis . If we look at it from another direction it is also a matter of mindset . I am wondering what would a man who wrote such poetry find funny . More importantly , what is his idea of observational humour ? What makes him sad ? His philosophies , his history . I realise I am saying he when I should be saying they .

Howard you have committed the impardonable sin of making me think . Its not such a terrible thing to do except I must complete work that requires I be who I am .A simple Irish Canadian .
Ah well its all just spilled Sake . Oops I mean mead . L:O:L

FYI, it's going from Aardvark to Bamboo right now. Bamboo, remember Steve took Yvsa's slot so it goes to Berkley after you.

Howard, there is nothing to prevent the book finally going back to you for a final signature from yourself and Red Flower. There's no hurry.

Best,

Norm

Cool idea. Of course it would have been more efficient for me to rip open the envelope, sign it, put on more postage, and send it in the first place. At the time I didn't want to waste the postage but now my viewpoint has changes somewhat. If someone sends it to me Red Flower and I will sign it and send it on.

I would be honored to be able to read Bill's work, if I may be added as well.

I received the book today, can't wait to dive into it; if I'm not mistaken, sogguy is next on the list?

I believe that Berkley is next in line. I sent him an email just now.

I took the liberty of sprucing up the packaging a bit. Didn't touch the book of course. Sorry for everyone's increased postage ... I think it'll be worth it in the end.

So far, no one has signed the inside cover as was mentioned earlier. I think it is better this way, as it is. IMHO.

Great book. Couldn't have found me at a better time.

Thank you Howard.

Reply sent - thanks to all.
It's nice to be back in the cantina - the place looks a little dusty, but otherwise as homelike as ever.

Bamboo, I thought Nasty had a good idea about folks signing it. At least as long as they do it discreetly. Adds a neat touch. However I respect your reasons for not doing so, but hope folks don't mind if I make a small notation of just my name with the date read inside.

Just received the book from Bamboo. When he said he "spruced up the packaging" he wasn't kidding!:D If I have this right, sogguy is next on the list? If so, please email or PM me with your mail address. Will try to read quickly.
